• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking about buying a Can Am - looking for advice??

Two more cents worth. I'm 73, and my lovely young bride is a mere 70. So yes, folks in their 70's - and some in their 80's - are Spyder riders. We are on our 2nd RT, first was a 2013 RT-L with the 998, current is a 2017 RT-S 1330. We much prefer the 1330. Smoother ride, better transmission, and...

Found a Push button garage door opener!

I'm Lazy. I carry an opener in the glovebox. No taking panels off, no wiring, just pop open the cover and push the magic button. !!Bonus!! With one remote I can open EITHER or BOTH garage doors!! Ain't technology grand!:2thumbs:

K&N Air Filter Orientation issue - any better solution than just jamming it in?

Agree with orienting the filter correctly. Once that is done, the rest is easy. I like the more "throaty" sound from the intake - the airflow through K&N is better than OEM. As to more horsepower, I think I've noticed a small gain, or it could be wishful thinking on my part. For more horsepower...

When Dogwoods bloom.... their pollen covers everything, including my Spyder!!

Here, it is the Live Oak Trees. They are dropping the powered horrible yellow pollen, and the little yellow/green wormy looking things that I call "Tree Snot". I have to use the leaf blower every day 'cause if it rains - which it probably won't - the porous stone soaks up the yellow color and...

Is Purchasing a RT S 2015 with only 1,800 miles a good idea?

You can also check by the VIN number for any & all recalls at NHTSA, and it will also tell you if that VIN# has had the specific repairs done. https://www.nhtsa.gov/campaign/safercargov

Where to purchase Kenda Kanine rear tire?

That is the same question that was on my mind. Why stress onself out trying to find a crap tire, when there are a number of readily available honest-to-gosh very good car tires out there for about the same money. And there are dealers out there - and I think more are starting to - that will...

There seems to be an abundance of 2019 RT's selling - what gives?

As my signature line shows, we have a 2017 RT-S, a leftover bought new in the crate in July 2018. It has been a stellar performer with minimal problems, parking brake motor replaced under warranty early on, and a camshaft positioning sensor last year. Oh, and water in the gas recently, although...

Spyderlovers - Facebook - Or Both?

Not condeming FB, as I have never been on it and have no basis on which to offer an opinion. It's just my preference to not have anything about me out there for all to see, or to tout any aspect of my life on that type of public forum. I even ask my wife not to post anything about me on her FB...

Is Spyderpops still a Sponsor? If not, anyone know why?

It would appear that Spyderpops is no longer a site sponsor. Granted, I just noticed that today, so I reckon it was sometime in the past. Anybody no why? Or would that be privileged information? Just curious.

Replacing Camshaft Sensor - is there enough clearance for allen key type torx?

I have had one of those for years, and it is great to get into some really tight spaces. I wonder what a dealer uses to change the sensor.

Helmet Day! Got a new Bell Modular!

Hope you have better luck with the Bell than me and the missus did. After about one hour, we both had painful headaches, and would have to stop and take them off. We ended up getting Sena Outreach helmets from Motorcycle Dave (They have the Sena comms built in), and we both find them to bea...

Winter vs summer tires on front of RT

Winter tires have a way softer compound than all season or touring/summer tires, so they wear faster. I have all season Vredestein tires and find them to be just fine wear wise.

2012-2019: highway pegs that do not interfere with breakaway floorboard?

My advice would be to not get the pegs from slingmods. I have them and don't really like them. There is not very much adjustment, I can't get them far enough forward, so I get cramps in my hips. They attach to the floorboards, which is really not an optimal place to mount them. I might give the...

Completed my semi annual "lie on my back and add air to the rear tire" routine

Toatally agree with old Timer. The best "farkle" I have ever bought. Have had mine for over a year, and it works well for me. The head has a clip on for the valve stem, and the air compressor hose hooks up to the bottom of the handle. You can also bleed air by slightly squeezing the "trigger" if...

Anyone else have this RT-L whine noise issue? Any advice?

You can also look up your VIN at the NHTSA site. It will tell you if the recall was done on your Spyder or not. https://www.nhtsa.gov/campaign/safercargov?redirect-safercar-sitewide Dealers are obligated to replace the front sprocket because of the recall. But don't let them do the "Interim...

Total Solar Eclipse over Vermont, April 8, 2024 - I'll be watching!

We'll be watching from the Texas Hill Country. Not staying overnight, as rooms in the area have been booked for 2 years. A (really nice) cabin in Fredricsburg that is normally $285/night is now $1500/night, 3 night minimum. And you can bet someone will pay that, but it ain't gonna be me...

Atlanta, GA Spyder maintenance - they won't work on bikes over 10 years old!

The sad fact is that manufacturers of Cars, Motorcycles, et. are allowed by the Feds to stop providing suppoert for their products after 10 years. In other words, that means no OEM parts have to be manufactured (although some do) for any vehicle. So then you are stuck trying to find...

Stranded! Spyder loses power, stops, & won't start. Any ideas?

Pretty sure that I got the watered gas at an HEB (huge grocery store chain here in Texas) gas station, as it's the last place I got gas. What is puzzling is that I still had just under a 1/2 a tank of (wet) gas left when all of this happened, so I wonder why it didn't happen sooner. Beats me...
