• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Just scheduled my first oil change

    ~~~if I were you I’d wait until 12months pass, then do the oil change. I’m politely saying RTFM. if you do (read the fine manual) it says to change the oil, not only the first time, but every 12months, if you fail to meet the requisite mileage (according to the manual, when to change the oil...
    Identifying tire age
    ~~~oh crap!, I’m aging faster than i thought…someone mentioned a 2nd set of numbers after the department of transportation acronym. That 2nd set of numbers is the manufacturing date. It looks like 0910 which would be the ninth week of 2010. I have been putting off a scheduled eye examination...

    What replacement Tires for a 2019 RT?

    ~~~ill watch my rear tire & see if it lasts as long as you quote here Mike (for those not keeping score, Jake just picked up a new RT in August). I’m sure you’re right about the longevity. As odd as it may sound to some, I’m looking forward to R&Ring the rear tire using the hand tools I’ve been...
    Identifying tire age
    ~~~1608 equates to the 16th week of 2008. That tire is 13+years old. Like Peter said, unsafe @ any speed A long time ago i bought a 1956 Lincoln Premiere from a family friend. It was his Father’s car and Louie just so happened to have purchased a 56’ Thunderbird the same year. Same Ford dealer...

    Shimmy at about 48 mph up to 56 mph - best guess?

    ~~~One way to keep the stick on wheel weights from flying off- after you clean the surrounding area on the wheel, place a strip of duct tape over these wheel weights- old racer trick! Note: not all duct tape comes in the prison shade of grey. You can find/buy duct tape in various colors. For...
    General Altrimax 43 (wear)
    ~~~Peter’s right, too many variables as to why you aren’t getting the mileage out of the same rear tire as a your Father gets, though I think the one variable you mentioned (chip seal roads) is plausible as a negating factor. After I sold my pan euro Honda (ST1100) I wanted a lighter touring...

    Shimmy at about 48 mph up to 56 mph - best guess?

    ~~~used to read a lot of posts on the ST (Honda ST1100) forum, peeps complaint about this. Almost always tire related I had a 99’ Honda ST1100. I remember it having a front wheel shimmy as you describe at one time or another. I was 3rd owner. Picked it up w/20 K miles in Y2K. IIRC I sold it in...
