• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    a 40 degree ride

Dec.11 2013 my Mother pass away. I gave the Limo to her caretakers, I rode the funeral procession in Honor for my Mom on my Spyder in 12* weather. I was warmer than those in their cars. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garmin 590lm Rubber Cover

That's reassuring! I felt a bit uneasy about it. Tried putting a baggie over it once but THAT blew off.

    Increasing daytime visibility

That looks really nice. I was having trouble finding a good description on their site of the other lights in the super package besides the fender ones. If there on the saddlebags that would be good.

    Increasing daytime visibility

I meant, why two different pairs? Wouldn't one pair do for showing where the sides are? I was wondering if maybe one set worked as turn signals or something. Sorry if I'm just confused.

    Increasing daytime visibility

That'd definitely be visible! For some reason I am reminded of a story that a fellow student told me in grad school, about his previous lab. It was back in the days before regulatory requirements made it hardly worth the bother to do any work with radioactivity, but there were still some...

    Garmin 590lm Rubber Cover

That reminds me - does the stock cover have any tendency to blow off and get lost? Seems like kind of a loose fit.

I was just thinking that the custom version of the GT racing stripes shown on his website, with red and reflective silver stripes on a black RT like mine, looked pretty good...

actually, I did buy a white Neotec as an early Xmas present to myself. Much more comfortable and quiet than my previous HTC, too.

Okay, I'm sold on the hi viz vest. Are Lamont's LED headlights the same as the ones in Jim's pictures? That sounds worthwhile. The bumpskid is an attention grabber, but kind of expensive. And maybe some more visible brake/turn signals would be nice. I agree defensive driving is paramount...

    Increasing daytime visibility

So, if I was going to buy one or two lights there's no consensus on which ones? I don't want to go hog wild because of the expense. I am already riding with fog lights and high beams on in the daytime. Right now I'm sort of leaning toward the Hi-vis jacket since it'd be visible from all angles...

    Increasing daytime visibility

Could anyone suggest what farkles would be best to get first for my new (to me) RT? My main priority is to increase visibility, daytime as well as night. The bike is black and my last one got wrecked by a driver who didn't see me, so I'm feeling particularly paranoid. Would the Spyderpops...

Spyder Oydyssey 2017 - 1000 Islands Kingston Ontario

Sounds interesting, and only a bit over 400 miles away. Guess I'd better get my passport renewed! (And find out exactly how a poker run works... I never managed to get my brain around card games.)

Thanks for the reminder. Heat shrink or even duct tape on the connection might be a good idea!

Battery charger/electric vest cabling for 2015 RT Ltd

True - using my vest on previous bikes, I've never dared turn it on until after the engine was running, although that might be a bit over-cautious. That was on two-wheelers and it was a cinch to wire it due to the location of the battery and absence of fairing. This time I may let the shop do...
