• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Brand or Type of Oil Should I Use in my Ryker??? Must it be safe for wet-clutch?

Well, don't go by your Operator's Guide - what do they know?

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

You're not wrong. These boxes work exactly as you have described. The box manufacturers have charts on their websites that show exactly that. Interesting video. Let's look very closely at what is happening here. While he talks about pressing the accelerator pedal rapidly, he never does that...

Another Dealer Drops the Spyder Line

Dealerships do vary. I live in south central Florida. I had a bad experience taking my Ryker to an east coast dealership. They did not have a lot of Rykers and Spyders on the showroom floor. I've had a much better experience with a west coast dealership that has lots more on their floor. The...

Mounting a tire on my Spyder - things I'll verify

FYI, My local Can Am dealer tech could not balance the wheel with that removed. I had to reassemble for them to do it. "Local" for me is still 2 hours away, but I prefer dynamic balancing myself, and it is a good shop. If I remove the wheel they charge $35, which I think is reasonable. They do...

Has anyone seen or have info on this electric Ryker shifter mod?

Yes. The ball joint has a spring clip pin that can be removed without tools to disconnect the actuator.

New main computer, odometer reset to Zero - any way to reset to show proper milage?

I have BUDS. I haven't done it, but it appears there is an option to increase the odometer but not decrease or reset it.

Has anyone seen or have info on this electric Ryker shifter mod?

I did install an interlock switch so that the parking brake must be on to shift into reverse.

Is there a brake pedal lowering kit for a 2014 RSS?

If I rest my foot on the peg like I do on my motorcycle - center of the boot - the front of my foot hits the brake pedal slightly. I find I must rest the ball of my foot on the peg to keep from tripping the brake switch, then change position to brake. I don't like floorboards; not an answer for me.

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

These guys understand throttle boxes: "You've been searching for an easy solution to add instant improvement to your truck's bottom end torque and/or throttle response. Stealth Modules plug inline with the truck’s Fuel Pressure Sensor and Boost Sensor (in most situations) providing the help you...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

I guess I don't know how my explaining how something works would impact someone's enjoyment. A few people have acknowledged appreciation for my posts, but if it makes you happy, I'll stop. I expected this forum would be welcome to an exchange of information. As I mentioned, I extensively...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

I think you hit the nail on the head with this post. I use the generally-accepted definition of throttle response, which is time to power. You can substitute "time to power" for "throttle response" in my posts if that helps. I was a member of the Mercedes SLK community, and Sprint Booster was...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

You didn't answer my questions. That's telling. I'm an engineer - we do like to use data and logic over feel and perception. I haven't found a box that fits the 998 Spyders; if I did I might test one to further prove my point. But I suspect many would not believe my results anyway. Maybe...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

To get full power, with or without PedalBox or Pedal Commander, you must twist 100%. Do you agree? When you twist 100%, the ECM sees the same 100% TAS, with or without a PedalBox or Pedal Commander, do you agree? With or without PedalBox or Pedal Commander, it takes the same amount of time to...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

Many modern cars have various modes that will modify the relationship between the accelerator pedal and power and/or acceleration. I read in a Mercedes technical article 20 years ago that they had a dynamic accelerator pedal response. If cruising on the highway for a time, the ECU would soften...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

Assuming both starters twist the grip 100%, the ECU sees the same TAS and responds the same. Tie.

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

No, I’m not saying that at all. I said up front exactly what these devices do, which is change sensitivity: “I found that while PedalBox and Pedal Commander increase (or decrease) twist grip sensitivity, they do not increase true throttle response, although they give that impression to many.”...
