• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking at buying - If you are over 80 y/o and ride a Spyder, raise your hand...

81 here and riding two wheelers for 40 years. At 78 I bought a new 2021 Sypder RT and love it. My wife feels it is more comfortable for her than was the Goldwing that I traded in. And both of us love the stability and sure footedness of the reverse trike design. I thought giving up the leaning...

Gas Gauge showing Full when tank is not - Why?

An alternative to those who won't bother resetting the trip meter, or who have no idea what their MPG is, or who otherwise wait until the engine is stalling out from a lack of fuel, is to just carry a gas container with them with a gallon or so of gas. Of course ideally it would be in crash...

If only the Japanese made a reverse trike...

Makes me curious as to why Honda never moved forward with the project. Maybe too much of a niche market for them to be bothered with.

Anyone have an idea about why my Tail-Lights are Staying on?

Thanks much for the info. I'll call the dealer tomorrow.

If only the Japanese made a reverse trike...

As I recall, the Neowing's front wheels tilted, requiring the rider to still put a foot down to balance the bike most of the time. And without a passenger seat or hard luggage, it never would have been a real competitor to the Spyder, only possibly the Ryker.

Anyone have an idea about why my Tail-Lights are Staying on?

An odd occurrence today. After an hour's ride and the engine shut off, the tail-lights remained on. I tried several times turning the key to on and then off again, and each time the tail-lights stayed on. I waited several minutes and the tail-lights did not go off. So I re-started the bike (2021...

If only the Japanese made a reverse trike...

I have had great luck with my 2021 RT, with the only service needed was oil changes after 6,000 miles. But most of my decades of riding I have been a big fan of Japanese motorcycles, particularly Honda (although I did stray to Triumph for a few years). And as pleased as I am with my Canadian...

Be careful Riding When it's Too Hot! Hydrate & keep cool!!

Every rider needs to be prepared to change their plans based upon adverse weather conditions, and that certainly includes heat. Above 92 the moving air actually makes you hotter, not cooler. Even when planning I would never have thought to visit Death Valley during the summer months. The last...

You knew it had to come - there's a Chinese Spyder!

I'm not a big fan of Canada, but I don't have any real reason to avoid Canadian made products like my RT. But I do not want to provide more support for the Chinese Communist Party when I can find reasonable alternative products to buy. I've read decent things about CFMOTO but I doubt that I...

    Potentially Inflammatory: Why vests?

When I was a member of a local chapter of the GWRRA (Gold Wing Road Riders Association) I was about the only rider who did NOT wear a vest. It appeared that the primary reason for a vest was to have a place for all of the patches accumulated at rallies and similar settings. I was never into...

Do Can Am Spyders have a Reserve Tank???

On my 2021 Spyder RT I have yet to see the low fuel warning light come on. I never let it go beyond about 150 miles before stopping to refuel. Usually once I hit 100 miles I am in need of a short break, so stopping to fill up is the best solution. If I were ever planning on being in a part of...

Can-Am does some things right, others not so much

As to wind in the face, I feel more of that (in a way) on my windscreen equipped Spyder than I do on my naked Royal Enfield Hunter 350. The windscreen on the Spyder is quite effective, enough so that I feel comfortable riding with my modular helmet's chin bar in the fully raised position. This...

Can-Am does some things right, others not so much

I love my RT and have never regretted buying it. I prefer the ride to my last ride, a Goldwing. But Can-Am needs to do better with some things. BRP sucks and a foolproof Apple Car Play should be standard. A better designed gas tank is needed. Yesterday the pump clicked with 3.0 gallons put it...

How Much Do You Use Wide Open Throttle?

Same for me. And if the bike were more powerful I likely would still do it. I'm old (81 next week) but I'm not dead yet.

Oil filler cap is VERY hard to get off and back on correctly - anyone else? Fixes?

I've used an adjustable pliers on my 2021 RT. The first time I went to check the oil I could not budge the cap and rode to the dealer where a much stronger person was able to twist it open. I rarely check the oil, but now when I do I use the pliers, gently but firmly. Seems to just be part of...

Using 4 FOBO TPMS senders to monitor the tires + ACS too!

Have not experienced any noticeable air leakage with the FOBO2 system. I change the batteries in the sensors at the beginning of the riding season, and set the rear tire at 30 pounds, with the low warning at 24 and the high warning at 40. For the front tires, I set the pressure at 20 with the...

I may have to forfeit my "motorcyclist" membership card!

I really, really enjoy riding my Spyder RT. But I must admit that deep down I know it is not a "real" motorcycle. And in some ways that is a very good thing. The stability and comfort of my Spyder far exceeds what I used to feel on the biggest and best motorcycle that I had ever owned, a Honda...

    Is BRP GO useful?

I find the screen on my 2021 RT to be too small to be useful for navigation purposes. A larger screen and an workable Apple Play setup would be a great improvement. When I first got my RT I added a phone holder on the handlebars and used the cable connection to the "glove box" but BRP would...

After decent Ride/Route fm Maggie Valley to ToD or Cherohala Skyway?

In my opinion the Dragon is overrated and dangerous at times due to the idiots coming the opposite direction who come over the center line on blind curves. The Cherohola is beautiful, not challenging at all. The scenic views on the Blue Ridge Parkway make for a great ride, but the 45 mph speed...

At what mileage did you buy your first set of replacement tires?

I've had my 2021 RT for almost 3 years, and I'm just short of 12,000 miles. I plan on getting an appointment for an oil change and service and wondered about tires. The two front ones look like they are still brand new. The rear tire looks a bit worn but still has what appears to be a lot of...
