• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bugs !@#$@# What will get them off?!

Yes, I totally agree with BajaRon. I've also used this technique for years. It may take a little more time, but well worth the effort so you don't scratch the surface. One small improvement, if I may. After you have all the surfaces clean, I recommend using Honda Spray Polish, or a similar...

A request for an additional feature, 'Return to Top of Page', if possible

I'm not seeing the "TOP" button in the thread view, and the "BACK" arrow is greyed out because this thread was the first view I looked at. Here's a copy of full my screen.

A request for an additional feature, 'Return to Top of Page', if possible

On some other sites, I've noticed a floating button that returns the user to the top of the forum. As a specific example, this can be helpful if the user has scrolled to the bottom of a thread and then wants to return to the navigation menu. If I'm in the middle of a long thread and I want to...

21 RT Rear Trunk won't stay open - any cheap repairs?

Try these. They look truncated, but I believe they are the entire posts. https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?93412-Gas-strut-for-trunk-on-the-RT&p=1645384&viewfull=1#post1645384...

Moving to a 2020 RTL from a 2013 RTL. What do I need to know?

Bangorbob is correct. A safety recall is mandatory. The TSB is a design flaw that is a voluntary repair. All are included under warranty. In other words, for a safety recall the manufacturer will contact you and will continue to contact you or any subsequent owner until the design flaw has been...

Moving to a 2020 RTL from a 2013 RTL. What do I need to know?

Here is a list of the TSB for the 2020 RTL. I hope this is helpful. https://www.carproblemzoo.com/tsb/can-am/spyderrt/2020-can-am-spyderrt.php

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Here's what I did today. A) I got cold in my garage. It's 35 °F outside and raining. B) Worked on my Spyder. I've been having problems with the GPS. One of the spring loaded electrical connectors has been dodgy since last summer. On a ride a week ago, the thing finally gave out, so I...

    Engineering Idiocy

Hi Dwight. I'm sure you're liking the weather down there better than up here. Energy costs are ridiculous. As to the oil filter, it's really not that bad. The brake reservoir is made to be relocated. Sure, it's an extra step, but it's designed into it. The 2020 re-design is much better as far...

    HowTo: Remote Garage Door Opener

OK, OK. So I posted a photo after all............ The OEM windshield switch has lights, and the up and down positions are separate momentary switches that can be wired to different devices. I may relocate the switches so the two heating devices are in the center of the console, with the two up...

Any idea what this bracket is?

There was a recall on the 2020 Spyder RT. Something to do with the brake pedal needing some extra support. It looks to be similar to the support bracket added to my 2020 RTL. It's hard to tell without measurements. I could be wrong.

Have you come up with Additional turn signals for '21 RT?

I installed these: https://www.lamonstergarage.com/amber-led-mirror-marker-can-am-spyder-rt-2020/ I like them because they are up high on the mirrors. I believe that makes them more visible. I suppose you could save some money by coming up with your own. Jetfixer's solution is exceptional...

998cc My current ride is a 2011 RT - is the 1330 that much better?

Hi, cahoots5. I've owned all three generations of Spyder RTs. I'd say yes, if you can afford it, move up to the 1330 engine. The engine itself gives you some marginal improvement in mileage, but the performance improvements are generally imperceptable for the typical rider that doesn't flog...

How do you get GPS directions to come over RTL Speakers?

Sounds strange. Your bluetooth setup seems to work, or you wouldn't get the music. I had a similar issue with my 660. Have you tried a soft restart of your GPS. I mean restart the software, not simply turning the power on and off. If you wish to perform a soft reset on Garmin zūmo: Press the...

Other than better luggage design are the 2020s that much better than a 2014?

Yes, it's worth the upgrade. The rider/passenger seats are larger and more comfortable. Both seats are now heated. The rider seat is separate, so you don't have to toss your passenger off when you buy gas. The top case is worlds better. The side bags and frunk are essentially the same as...

Would be nice to have a 2020 & Up RT only category on here

I'd have to agree. The 2020+ model RT has enough design differences to warrant its own category.

What year Spyder RT Ltd should I be looking at? We want a 1330??

I'd suggest you go with the 2020. There was a design change in 2020, larger seats, better suspension, more comfort. As always, my free advice comes with a double your money back guarantee.
