• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil change before winter storage or after ? Your thoughts?

Another vote for before storing. My thinking is that it's better to have the bike sitting idle with fresh oil that doesn't have any breakdown or acidic "junk" in it that could do any harm to an idle motor. I have no basis for this thought, but that's my story and I'm stickin to it.

A difficult/complicated job (RTL oil change)

Magic Mirror magnets are a great investment. The new drain plugs will help a lot too. Basic car ramps are plenty sufficient. Once you do it a couple times it gets much better. Hopefully more often than every 2-3 yrs...?

    Compressing rear brake piston...Help Please

With the help of this site, we got it by pushing and turning, with a needle nosed pliers. We were trying one or the other, but not both at the same time. Thanks all......He was ready to load it up and take it to the dealer last night.

    Compressing rear brake piston...Help Please

My buddy just had this exact issue with his piston too. We turned on it but it never did retract or get "tight". It would turn but not retract at all. I feel bad cuz I talked him into changing his tire himself....it all went perfect until it was time to put the brake back on. We couldn't get...

What size Ramps to load Spyder onto trailer?

I wasn't talking about loading without being hooked up to a vehicle. That could get ugly!! I raise the front of the trailer with it hooked up.

Is the first service really needed to be done by the dealer?

I didn't take my '16RT to the dealer for anything until 12k miles, and then all they did was the inspection and minor things on the check list. I told them not to change the oil/filter or air filter because I had just done it myself. I did like that they readjusted all of the cables for the...

What size Ramps to load Spyder onto trailer?

That'll work just fine. I used to do it this way. It will also help to use the tongue jack to raise the front of the trailer as well, to reduce the transition angle from the ramps to the deck

    Fresh Oil

We're from WI too. I change the oil once per year, just before storage regardless of mileage, whether I'm gonna be a little over or under. Once it's changed I don't ride anymore til spring

    Radio replacement? RT

Some friends of ours just installed XM radio. Sounds simple, but it wasn't cheap!

Sorry, another mirror question I can't find any info about.

Your next venture should be to get yourself some "Magic Mirror" magnets. LaMonster Garage, and others sell them. There are a couple different versions out there now, but many have been happy with the Magic Mirrors. Keep an eye on those pesky steel clips. It seems that once you remove and install...

    Whats my spyder worth?

To really simplify it, I figure the year model it is X 1000. So for example, if I wanted to list my 2016 RTS, I'd ask $16,000. If I had a really nice clean 2010 RT, I'd ask in the neighborhood of $10,000....and so on. Of course this is considering reasonable mileage and good, recorded up keep...

Anyone else like Planning routes? I use REVER...

Oh I hear ya. I don't plan very often, but if we have a bigger day in mind wandering off to who knows where.....I like to have an idea of where the next pit stop might be...LOL....I'm all for hopping on and just going... The nice thing about REVER is it's an easy app to useon a phone or on a...

Anyone else like Planning routes? I use REVER...

I was a die-hard user of the MyRoute App for planning rides on my laptop, then loading them onto my Garmin. BUT, I've been using REVER lately and I have changed my game up a bit. I prefer REVER over MyRoute. Anyone else like to plan rides in advance? I like to do it when I'm gonna be leading a...

Thanks to all my Customer from RLS Exhaust

Love my "punisher" pipe.....I recommend you every time I see a request for a recommendation for exhaust. Good stuff!!

After market exhaust - is a re-flash necessary?

Nope, immediately after the swap just start the bike and let it idle for a bit...5-10 minutes should be a great plenty. Then shut it down for 5 minutes, then start it up and go ride.

I get a strange vibration at higher speeds...

Most likely the drive belt. Very few people get one that doesn't have some amount of vibration around 73mph.

Rever shows a LARGE blue dot on the Spyder screen for location! Any fixes?

Just started using Rever. When I look at it on my phone, I just see the small blue dot. I looked through the settings and I don't see how you would change the size of the dot
