• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

Did you have the leak issue before this work was done?

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

No, a restricted vent issue will not register a code. But you can blow out valve cover seals, etc, over time. I'm not even sure what would cause this issue in a Ryker. If I get time, I'll look into it as your situation interests me greatly. Have you made any modifications to your engine or exhaust?

2010 Spyder won’t start! Got a new battery and put it in, everything looks normal, but only clicks once! Any Help?

Most batteries are filled and charged by the manufacturer. They can sit and over time, discharge. This is why all of our batteries come dry. We fill and charge them when needed. That way you get a genuinely brand new, fully charged unit. It's a little more hassle, but well worth the effort in...

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

The only reason for a catch can is if you have crankcase vent issues. I've never seen a Ryker with this kind of problem. I am leaning more towards Gwolf's assessment of a vent restriction of some kind. Very strange.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

The Ryker has an anti-drain back valve in the filter. But that won't keep the oil from the reservoir from going back into the crankcase. You may have hit on something here. It's been so often repeated that I didn't even think of the proper level checking process as a possibility. And this could...

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

Why would you want an oil catch can on a Ryker?

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

How do the mating surfaces look on the engine side. I'm assuming it is that side since it matters not how the cap is positioned. Maybe a flaw in the casting. Should be easy to pinpoint since it's always in the same place. I assume you wipe the oil away and it then comes back. Though I doubt...

Not Your Average Oil Thread - New oil, clutch 'Chirping' at idle?!

How long did it chirp before you changed the oil? We are wondering if it isn't caught soon enough, it could cause enough wear that the clutch pack might need to be shimmed to get back into spec. Or if shimming will even cure the problem. It's a quandary that we'd like to solve if possible...

    Are these Tires too old?

I see that you are not happy with car tires (which the Kenda's are as well). Just curious as to how many, and which 'Car' tire's you've tried that did not work out for you?

Not Your Average Oil Thread - New oil, clutch 'Chirping' at idle?!

The point of this tread isn't so much the Amsoil aspect, as the cure going from what Blackstone says is a 0-40 to the 10-40 that we put in. It would be interesting to have opportunity to try other 10-40 oils, but not practical. Especially since we stock the Amsoil. I was hoping others might have...

I'm even more of a Spyder fan than I was before

Great story Vito. If you give it time, the Spyder tends to grow on you the more you ride it. May you have many more years of enjoyment!

Not Your Average Oil Thread - New oil, clutch 'Chirping' at idle?!

We've had an interesting few weeks here at the shop. Here's how it has gone: Customer goes to dealer for oil change; Customer picks up Spyder and notices clutch 'Chirping' at idle; Customer is told by dealer 'This is normal, they all do it'; Customer rides 4 miles to our shop because they are...

Any time limit on changing HCM filter during oil change? Is a 10 y/o filter good for a few more years?

The 1330 HCM filter is a stainless steel mesh. Not going to go bad and isn't going to fill up unless something is very wrong inside the engine.

Any time limit on changing HCM filter during oil change? Is a 10 y/o filter good for a few more years?

Sorry, blew by the year model. I wouldn't worry about the HCM filter. Go the miles. Obviously, warranty issues are not an issue here.

Any time limit on changing HCM filter during oil change? Is a 10 y/o filter good for a few more years?

I agree the HCM filter for the 1330 is way over priced. And what you did is probably fine. However, if you cannot show proof of change, it could give you warranty issues. It is important to document all warranty related service (mileage, what was done + receipts) to maintain your warranty coverage.

2021 RT Ltd Torn rear brake caliper piston dust seal - can this seal be easily replaced? Where can I get a replacement?

Yes, you can do it easily without BUDS. You can't bleed the ABS unit. But it holds very little fluid and in most cases it won't make any difference. Just be sure to leave the key off during the process and pump the brake pedal to bring the pads tight against the rotors before turning the key on...

2021 RT Ltd Torn rear brake caliper piston dust seal - can this seal be easily replaced? Where can I get a replacement?

I would check. But I think you're toast. What a shame if I am right. Which I hope I am not.

Red oil drops noticed near left A arm - anyone run across this before?

Easy fix, and you're not the 1st one. Just kind of a mess once it gets to that stage. At least it's not a blown shock!

Red oil drops noticed near left A arm - anyone run across this before?

Some think that if a little oil on the K&N filter (or any oil impregnated filterer) is good, more is better - when actually, you want to use a very small amount of oil on these filters. If there is enough to settle at all, you've used too much. You'll need to remove the filter (I'm assuming a...

2008 GS parking brake will not click or engage, even tho the cable is moving. Not locked on, I can roll it by hand - any ideas?

If it's crudded up really bad you may need to spray it liberally with some carb cleaner to get it cleaned up, then try the lube again. Good luck!
