• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    The Log House Project

Moving Fast! We have still been moving along at a fast pace lately, after such a long lull. Yesterday three trim carpenters showed up to begin the interior walls, doors, wood ceilings, and trim. The painter showed up to go over the job. The ceiling wood was delivered and staged, and the trim...

    2014 RT Limited Issues

All disc brakes rub. The pad constantly rides against or near the rotor in light contact, and in full contact with the rotor when engaged. I doubt it is anything different than with previous models.....you can just hear it better.

You mean it left? Come over to our side...it lives here. :D

Headlights: Other than HID lamps, is there another 'bright' bulb option?

H7 headlights, H8 foglights on the RS.

What's the matter, isn't your third hand working? :roflblack: Very ingenious.

    RT rear tire

Don't be sorry for the post. The problem is with your tech, not with you. It is unfortunate that some Spyder and tire dealers have such a narrow view, but it is their privilege. If you search around, you may find someone more willing...and less likely to hand out the BS by the shovelful.

    Windy

A BajaRon swaybar my help, as might an Outlaw/ROLO laser alignment, but you will never get rid of all the wind influence...especially if you want to keep the softer ride. Unlike a 2-wheeled motorcycle, the Spyder does not have any gyroscopic directional stability, so it is more readily affected...

    Using a non-BRP GPS Part 1

I like the RAM mount in place of the gauges. That's the most sensible thing I have seen done with that space. Good thinking!

Simple Question about storage capacities on the 2014s

??? I thought the front trunk was downsized slightly in 2013, when they moved the battery forward? Someone also mentioned a change in one of the side bags. It would be nice for someone to confirm this for sure.

Looking for a tent camping trailer. This may be the deal you are looking for!

????? The towing capacity has been 40 pounds since the beginning in 2010.

    advice

Nobody's head turns 180 degrees, so the view to the back will always be less than ideal. I think a rearview camera is better suited to the task than mirrors, so I say go for it if you can afford it. From what Dave (CyncySpyder) said (and Teddy confirmed) the real problem is in finding suitably...

    oil change 1st time.

The L-shaped hex keys are hard to hold to the bottom of the fastener recess sometimes, and they put a lot of non-rotational force on the fastener, often stripping either the fastener or the wrench. The hex sockets shown above are easy to hold in place with one hand while turning with the other...

    Spyder RSS advice needed....

The manual says 13-15 psi, but 15 is the minimum posted on the sidewall, and I would never go below that. Those are cold pressures, taken severl hours since you last rode. Spyders seem to do better with a little more air up front, the GS/RS seems to like something around 20. That's where I...

    oil change 1st time.

I recommend you don't use an allen wrench. Use the correct sized hex socket on a 3/8" drive ratchet. Don't neglect to tork the plug with a torque wrench. Too tight and you'll have problems the next time.

Attaching any accesorie (12 volt) to the battery

I'd recommend that you install an auxiliary fuse block, attached directly to the battery. One that is relay triggered to shut off when the Spyder is noit running might be a good idea. That would take tapping into a key-on circuit to operate the relay, like the switched accessory circuit or the...

Engine Shuts off after long runs

Lots of possible reasons. I'd let the dealer sort it out.

Test drove a 2014 Spyder RT today

The SM doesn't have footboards. Numb hands are more often a result of ergonomics than vibration. Neck and wrist position are the two most common causes. Don't ask how I know.

New 2014 RT Key Won't Turn!

You should have received two extra years of warranty coverage on the BEST plan for RTs purchased before April. That would include road service coverage. Ask your dealer why your BEST doesn't cover it...or why you didn't receive the BEST promotion.

    Spyder RSS advice needed....

The lean is something you have to get used to, to some extent. Be sure your front tires have sufficient air...around 20 seems to work well on the GS/RS. That may also help the floating feeling, although overcontrol is a common cause, and the toe-in may need adjustment. Be sure the front tires...
