• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    possible cause for fires?

I have nothing to add to this discussion, but... :dontknow: I know that it made me add full coverage to my Spyder insurance today ... just in case... :gaah:

    Shopping for a helmet

My 2 cents... After riding for almost 20 years and going through quite a few helmets, I just recently learned that there are different shaped helmets that fit differently shaped heads. Some are long and narrow, front to back. Some are more round. Some are more oval. Arai actually...

    Two-wheel motorcycle recommendations

If she's interested in a sport bike, the Kaw Ninja 250R is incredibly popular with young women (Ninjettes - they decorate them, etc.), and new I think it's around $4,000. She should sit on one, though, because I'm not sure if it's low enough. (I'm 5'10", so it's hard for me to judge).

Is this the spyder in the Transformers movie?

I saw the one you're talking about, and it looks more like a Spyder than anything else I saw in there. :dontknow: It's about half-way through the trailer. Optimus Prime is standing in a dark place (cave?) and this thing is transforming at it's feet. We NEVER go to see movies at the...

CHAD Windshield - Helmet Buffeting - HELP!

I'm 5'10" too and after trying a couple of taller windshields I went with the BRP Ultra Sport. No noise, no buffeting on my head because the buffeting is below the neck. Only problem I have is holding on when riding 70mph into a 50mph wind :yikes:. But I'm a fair-weather rider, so I'm not...

BRP pissed me off big time now!

I've noticed that same thing on car commercials for rebates, financing, etc. They'll show the most popular or desirable models, but the fine print says those aren't included in the deal.:gaah:

    Ride to Work Day

Ride to work ? Unfortunately, I do need a reason to ride to work since I hit both morning and evening rush hours. The interstate (under construction) at 5:00 scares the :cus: out of me when I'm in my car, let alone on the Spyder. But I'm going to drum up my courage and give it my best shot!

How do I take a turn?

Just another little tip - try to set up to the outside of the lane going into the turn, go across the inside apex of the turn and head to the outside of the lane going out of the turn. Don't hug the inside of the turn, that just makes it even tighter. Then do as everyone else said - lean...

Backseat driver with monkey hanging off

When we used to ride two-up, Grumpy would tell me (the passenger) that if the bike has a backrest, to become one with the bike (in other words - go where the bike goes). If it doesn't have a backrest, become one with the driver (go where the driver goes). Now I go where-ever I want...:D

Has anyone raced the Spyder on a track?

I took my spyder on the track last weekend. Here's my post about it. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11150&highlight=motorplex There's also a video I took while riding. I had trouble with the nanny kicking in in the corners at first, but when someone showed me the lines...

    Spyders meet in Omaha, Nebraska

Good to see you again, Major, and to meet you, BigArm. Sorry we couldn't stay long. You know...so many motorcycle shops, so little time...

Do the dealers really know what they are doing.

I just know that has been Grumpy's (hubby's) theory on every vehicle that we own, so he does most of our service/repairs himself. We did, however, get excellent service from the Nebraska dealer on the parking brake recall (the only time we've had it in the shop). No complaints at all.

Survey- Has your Spyder been in the shop for repair

just had to bump this one for a little more input. Grumpy (hubby) is talking about getting an SE5, but I think he should just go with the SM5.

    Spyder Wandering

I have the same issue with my 4-wheeled Toyota Spyder. It is narrower than the grooves in the pavement and jumps back and forth from side to side. I just loosen up and go with it, barely even notice it now, on either vehicle.
