• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Brake pedal adjust

Do a search for the couple of long threads on this. Some of us have have altered the connection ( very easy) to put the pedal in a lower position. My wife loved the mod.

    F3S Tires and Rims

Going with a 17" wheel while maintaining the OEM tire height (known as a "plus 2" change) should have a dramatic effect on the F3's handling. You would have to use a tire with a 1" (25.4 mm) shorter sidewall to keep that diameter and that would affect the bike's steering response. The question...

    Pirrelli P Zero ?

Yes, those are the ZPs . I'll get rid of the runflats as soon as the PSS are available in my sizes. Tires are for a C7 ZO6. I use those tires on any modern car I own.

    Pirrelli P Zero ?

My stock size rear tire is 335 x 25 x 20. TireRack usually has pretty good prices and right now it is $511 per tire, plus shipping. I appreciate your concern that I am overpaying and would like to know where you can buy them for a lot less.

    Pirrelli P Zero ?

Michelin Pilot SuperSports @ about $500 per tire are superb tires. Previous generations of Michelin's best tires used to last about 10K miles if you didn't do burnouts, but these new ones will go 15K now.

    Pirrelli P Zero ?

Trofeo is the incredible tire on the Z28 Camaro that set track records around the country. Very sticky with a UTOQ of 20! I've actually had some tires with a rating of 0.

    Pirrelli P Zero ?

I admit that I didn't look at TireRack's rating this time. For my cars I only worry about responsiveness and dry weather handling. We avoid wet weather as much as we can on the bikes, too, but your point is well-taken for the many who ride in all conditions. Dry weather braking is something...

    Pirrelli P Zero ?

I know that a lot of riders go to auto tires for the increased tread life. All of what I've read has guys going to some inexpensive tires (Kuhmo, etc.) I know that on a car a high perf tire can totally change the vehicle dynamics for the better. I would think that the prospect of improving the...

Miles to replace >>F3<< Rear tire?

The Kenda-bashing on this forum reminds me of the Kuhmo-bashing years ago on Corvette forums. I'm not here to say the Kendas don't deserve it, but I sure would like to see where the "facts" are coming from. For instance: 1. "MOST aftermarket tires are better constructed and made out of...

ECO Mode - what does it actually do? Anyone actually use it?

I stand corrected as I didn't explain my point very well. It does alter the degree of throttle response (hence, the ECU intervention), but my point was that it didn't affect timing and/or AFRs. It doesn't do anything you can't do on your own by rotating your right hand differently.

ECO Mode - what does it actually do? Anyone actually use it?

ECO mode doesn't "turn down the power a bit". (not related to ECU at all) It's simply an icon to remind you to shift earlier.

    Need Front Wheel Nut Torque

As the tires wear (break in), the balance will degrade, not improve. A perfectly balanced tire will be out-of-balance as it accumulates miles. That's the biggest benefit to using some brand of balance beads IN the tire. The beads constantly compensate for tire-wear-induced balancing issues...

Am I the only one with a slow F3?

My Indian has a large, removable shield. I leave it on in the cooler weather or possibly for a cross-country trip. It's off as soon as the temps come up. (I hate riding with a shield) My gas mileage goes up by 2 mpg as soon as the shield is off and the bike is much more stable. That 2 mpg is...

    Checking the oil level

Very well explained. Dry sump motors have an oil-check protocol for a good reason. I've had dry sumps in several cars and often read where owners have failed to follow protocol and massively over-filled their oil. Even dealers have been caught overfilling due to improper procedures. Many...
