• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

87 Octane seems to work just fine

I have Stage II and carry a small bottle of Boostane in my trunk. It takes 2.61 oz. to turn 6 gallons of 87 octane into 91 octane. $12.00 for a 4oz bottle. Boostane apparently has a shelf life of 2 years if unopened and stored properly. I'm guessing my trunk is almost properly.

Anyone replaced the entire Electric Windscreen mechanism on a 2023 RT?

There are some references on this site from years ago that may help. One was never to ride with your screen totally up or down.

Anyone else fitted one of these Handlebar Brake Conversions? Having problems setting it up, need help/advice.

That's exactly what my mechanic friend was explaining to me. The weight of the spyder (1K lbs) and its braking surfaces compared to those of an average vehicle, the spyder stops faster. Physics 101. The design of the hand brake is primarily for those who may have physical limitations with their...

Which of the following Highway Pegs do you recommend?

Custom make your own, or search for the stoutest mounts produced and then have them extended to match your needs. Just don't get them too close to your front fenders. A mounting attached along the full length of the underside of the floorboards (foot pads) should provide ample support. Like a...

Right on! If you can't afford to pay, then don't play.

Totally bonkers 'Miles to empty' on Can Am 2023 RTL - can it be fixed?

If all your gas cans are empty and you need gas to clean a greasy part or something, so you siphon a half gallon out of your Spyder because your car or truck has an anti-siphon feature, that's really going to play hell with your miles-to-empty computer on your 3-wheeled know-it-all Spyder. LOL...

Anyone else fitted one of these Handlebar Brake Conversions? Having problems setting it up, need help/advice.

I've also been contemplating the hand brake. So far, almost everyone who has one has had issues with it. The Spyder mechanic I frequent, who has installed them, tells me, "Forget it! It's a waste of time and money. Your OEM foot brake is designed to activate the entire system for a reason. But...

Looking for a 2008 GS Master Key - any ideas?

No such thing as a "master key," every Spyder key is different. Different cut and different chip. Because I have key issues, I have 4 chipped and cut keys ($55each+$10cut each). Wife has one, I have one, one at home in a drawer, and one hidden on the Spyder. Any one of them will start the...

Which of the following Highway Pegs do you recommend?

I also prefer the round peg for the same reason. I have an RT and made my own HW pegs for less than $10. The rubber slip ons (handlebar grips) were the most expensive part.

Not a Spyder Ryde, and not my ride either, but check out some of Australia's Great Ocean Road on a 1972 Honda CB750!

A CB-750 was the first of my many big road machines. It was a CHP bike bought at auction. I got it from an officer who bought several of them and then resold them. I own an IT-400 monoshocker, the first of the big CC monoshocker dirt bikes. Speaking of old friends, my IT-400 and I have burned up...

Check out this Rock on the road!

When my turn comes, I hope it's no worse than your experience was. Parts can be shipped overnight, but skin grows back slowly.

Anybody else rounded off the hex Oil filter cap? Any tips to remove?

Remember, righty tighty lefty losey because you'll be upside down. And, factory oil drain plugs are one hex and the other torx. Don't, by all means, screw them up. Give them a quick rap with a hammer before you try removing them. Helps to remove them more easily. Good luck.

Do I need to do a Spring oil change if I did one in Fall before Winter storage?

Change according to factory-recommended changes. I, however, use Amsoil and send samples in for testing and evaluation. I changed at 10k, and I'm considering going to 12K depending on the results of my next sample. No matter what oil you use, your spyder tranny is going to shear it down within...

Check out this Rock on the road!

Only making a guesstimation from your photos, but it seems like you must have been going close to MOC2, making it an unavoidable hit. I'm always looking for sh** like this, and years of experience have taught me to slow down and pay attention. Running a 2-wheeler, as opposed to a 3-wheeler...

Windshield top level with my line of sight - any recommendations for replacement?

I had the same issue. Hated the top of the windshield cutting my vision in half. Marked it, took it to a specialty plastics shop, and they cut 2" off the top of it and cleaned it up so it looks like it's never been modified. Sweet!

Anybody else rounded off the hex Oil filter cap? Any tips to remove?

Can't remember where I got them but they do make a small pair of vice grips. How'd it go with the drain plugs? I'd also order a pair of gold plugs for my next go around. Very cheap insurance.

    Riding my other Bike.

The County seat near where I live is coming down hard on these e-bikes. Soon, these bikes will have to comply with all the rules and regulations that any other self-propelled vehicle must follow. License, registration, insurance, and mechanical requirements such as horns, turn signals, brake...

Anyone identify this exhaust system? (And how do I quiet it down?)

Just venturing a guess that there is half a ton of OEM mufflers lying around just taking up space and collecting dust in Spyder owners' garages in your neck of the woods. I'm sure there's someone out there who's willing to give you one if you just pay the shipping cost or pick it up yourself. I...

2010 RT key mechanism failing to open frunk - any suggestions on fixes? Or just go to a manual release?

I have spare keys up the wazoo, both chipped and unchipped, but if a cable fails, they are no help at all. I have nylon cords hidden under the cowling that function quite well, but I don't trust their longevity. I'm intending on replacing them with flexible, clear-coated cable that should last a...
