• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

10 year parts law - will parts for the 1330 engine/trans still be available into 2036?

When I hit the German Shepherd with my Champagne 2018, the new panels were not available in the 2 year model color. So they sent replacement panels out to a body shop to be painted along with a broke off Champagne part. Result was one could not tell the OEM remaining panel from the newly painted...

How do I get a 2014 RT's Stuck rear luggage trunk open? Any ideas appreciated.

Removing the big rear wrap around panel requires having both side cases open to remove 2 screws on each side.

How do I get a 2014 RT's Stuck rear luggage trunk open? Any ideas appreciated.

Hold it in and pull the release, then release the case lid. Then take the rear tupperware off and adjust the cable.

10 year parts law - will parts for the 1330 engine/trans still be available into 2036?

Mechanically the Spyder 1330 motor and transmission are near bullet proof.

10 year parts law - will parts for the 1330 engine/trans still be available into 2036?

What I see as an issue, is finding a dealer/other to plug in BUDS to check out an electrically/electronics problem as a machine ages. My buddy and I both had display software updated on 2018's back in early 2021. Fast forward to last year and I had major problems getting it updated on another...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Sitting here thinking about why I like my 2018 Spyder RT-L vs the next generation. Note: I rode a brand new 2020 RT-L in my BRP sponsored trike class in October 2020. Other than the fact that I really like the 2019 Spyder RT chrome wheels that are also on some years/models F3's. I have bought...

Compile a list of BUDS owners who are willing to help, by location?

I believe that there are now BUDS1, BUDS2, and BUDS 3 versions. I know they needed BUDS2 or at least the BUDS2 USB cable to update the display on my 2018 RTL.

Any experience or ideas on Increasing Ground Clearance on the Canyon Models?

"Tow strap" brings up an issue. Pull out of a hole! Probably OK. Tow it miles out of a remote location??? The Spyder manual says a Spyder should not towed. Given the drive train is basically the same, what does the Canyon manual say about towing.

They record deaths there quite often from what I hear.

Looking for this Rear Backrest mounting nut, or dimensions to make one?

Well, I made one, so if anyone has the dimensions to finish this as well, that would be great. I made it as 1/4 20 bolt as I had a tap for that.

Any experience or ideas on Increasing Ground Clearance on the Canyon Models?

At 81 my memories are still great! And I am out on the Spyders making more quite often. We did the Roosevelt Lake 180 mile loop ride yesterday with lunch at Butcher Hook restaurant in Tonto Basin. Ride ON!

Looking for this Rear Backrest mounting nut, or dimensions to make one?

One friend sold another friend an OEM drivers back rest which came off a 2018 RTL limited and went on a 2014 RT. However, one on the "blind" nuts for the rear screws is missing or out of place on the 2014 seat. Before tearing the seat cover off to look for it, it would be nice to have one in...

Any experience or ideas on Increasing Ground Clearance on the Canyon Models?

What is going to happen when someone on a Canyon accidently goes down a hill that the machine will not be able to come back up and there is no other way out? I see that as maybe the first report where we'll hear of the need for a recovery. Someone out just have fun on a gravel road and it...

Any experience or ideas on Increasing Ground Clearance on the Canyon Models?

I see the Canyon designed for a very narrow market, being not the best road offering from BRP, and a very limited off road vehicle. Time will tell. I had a many different dirt bikes in my younger years. The Honda ATC 90 for several years, which was most likely better on gravel roads and dirty...

Any experience or ideas on Increasing Ground Clearance on the Canyon Models?

Beside marketing, could someone explain why the Canyon was named motorcycle of the Year? Do they come with keys to locked Forest Service and Private Logging roads?

That is my feeling also! At least when it becomes high centered it will be on a protected spot maybe! Still waiting to read about the first Canyon off highway recovery.

Any experience or ideas on Increasing Ground Clearance on the Canyon Models?

Here is a review of the Red Rock. I snowmobiled for years and the machines got bigger and heavier, however they all had a rear lift bar on the back that gave a lift point where you or you and your buddies could lift and move the rear around when stuck. That appears to be an aftermarket...

Any experience or ideas on Increasing Ground Clearance on the Canyon Models?

I am waiting to read about the first recovery! Given that a Spyder has a hard time driving the front wheels up onto two by fours without spinning the rear wheel.

Any experience or ideas on Increasing Ground Clearance on the Canyon Models?

I would add that we had 3 wheel Honda ATC 90's back in the 70's and that did great in sand. However, out on trails, if you failed to make a hill you REALLY had one's hands full getting it back down to level ground. I envision the Canyon have similar, but four or five time worse, issues...
