• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Suspension relocation

Skip the relocators and do it right by getting rid of those 7 year old stock shocks. They were marginal to begin with. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    Nice Day to Ryde

We did the last 2 wheel ride for the season yesterday before winterizing them. It was in the high 40's and nice and sunny. Great day for a ride! I don't winterize the Spyder as it will get some riding through the winter. Being able to extend the riding season safely is probably the best thing...

    New york bike show

We were surprised at how light it was too, but we were there fairly early. Seemed like as we were leaving there were quite a few people coming in. The vendor area is honestly a joke. How many patches, novelty helmets, and floor cleaners do they think people need? Progressive must feel it's...

Winter Storage/ fuel tank/full or empty/ additive or none/what Brand?

So do you have condensation issues in your house when the heat goes out? Losing power isn't an immediate change in temp. Don't over think it. Many leave their bikes out in the rain and snow all season with no issues. A climate controlled garage is the best there is. IMHO I'd rather not run...

    VALVOLINE FULL SYNTHETIC ON SALE

I was thinking the same thing. He wasn't telling anyone to run anything. Everyone has to make their own decision on what works best. Thanks again for the heads up Mike! Personally, I DO run this oil and it works well for me.....but I'm also not looking for anyone to take responsibility for...

Winter Storage/ fuel tank/full or empty/ additive or none/what Brand?

No more of a condensation concern in the winter in a climate controlled garage than any other time of the year. I wouldn't sweat a power outage or two. Personally, I'd rather have fresh gas in the tank rather than doing that first all day ride with a full tank of old fuel. Best is to just...

Winter Storage/ fuel tank/full or empty/ additive or none/what Brand?

Climate controlled garage? I'd run it down close to empty and add some Stabil. Fill it up with fresh fuel at your first ride. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

considering purchasing a GS. What issues / concerns should I be aware of?

Add either the Spyder pops heat management piece that extends the deflector or update the piece to an OEM 13'+ deflector and remove the splash pans. I ride in shorts in the summer and even my wife, who is now primarily riding the Spyder, doesn't have any complaints with heat. Sent from my Nexus...

    VALVOLINE FULL SYNTHETIC ON SALE

For the last few seasons I've been running 20/50 completely in my 990. It's the same rotax Aprilia uses and they spec 20/50 in a much more demanding platform. I sometimes drop to a 50/50 mix of 20/50 and 10/40 to run over the winter. BRP is notorious for spec'ing all their machines for use...

    Engine Knocking

Without hearing the noise it's really hard to diagnose. However, the 1330 does have hydraulic lifters and it's not unusual to hear a little tapping noise when cold at first startup due to the design. Especially as the weather gets cooler. Lighter weight oils help with that quite a bit on...

Under 100 is normal for Fe. Bikes with shared oil for the trans can run a bit higher than those that have a separate gearbox. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

    7K M1 oil sent off

Switch to a different oil and cut your mileage down to closer to 5k and check it again. If your iron levels are still high then you've got something going bad inside the motor/trans. High iron can be crank, cams, rods, rings, and even gears from the trans. Something is not wearing happy in...
