• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Almost back in the saddle - who else is still here from 2012-13?

Hi Bill. I am still here also. Altho I joined in 2012 I didn't do much until 2015 when I bought my 2012. I still have it and still ride it but not as much as before. Age is creeping up on me , but it is better than the alternative.

Who out there has Removed their Zumo mount and wiring? Use it for USB/phone?

My 2012 Garmin (660 I think) works great but I would like to remove it and replace it with a Carpuride 702 to bring things into a more modern age. Are any of the current wires that go to the Garmin usable with the Carpuride?

Here's my Battery cover access upgrade.

You can probably go down to the local hardware store and find those knobs individualy that just fit over the heads of the torx screws. They should be pretty cheap. We used to use those on our Ventures to not have to get a wrench to take off the seat. Take a screw with you to see if it fits.

2015 F3S Oil Pump Failure, replaced, engine still ticking - any ideas on what component/s might have been damaged?

If you can find a good used engine on ebay will your independent shop do the swap for you.? I have seen proportadly good engines on ebay for $1500 to $3000. Some have videos of the engine running. Worth a look even if you don't go that route.

My '21 S2S rattles quite badly for a few seconds after ~5 months layup start - any way to spin the motor without starting?

+3 as Edmat and Snowbelt have said, just hold the throttle wide open and crank it until the oil light goes out, then a couple more, and when you start it, that noise will not happen.

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Boy this is an old thread. Nice to see it come back. I looked at some of the old posts and remembered some past friends that are no longer on here for whatever reason. Remember Mr. White, Prairie Spyder ,Chupaca, Cruiser Joe and a whole bunch of others. I did find my post #768 where I announced...

    Random thought for the day

I remember those days. I started with an AJS tho it had no electrics, then had a 750 Norton Commando. Once when riding thru the Colorado mountains at night with my buddy the lights went out on his new Kawasaki 3 cyl. We had to use the lights of the Norton to get him into the next town where we...

Daylight Saving Time - Make sure to adjust your Spyder clocks - Spring Ahead!

I just leave my clock alone. Even though Utah observes DST, I don't bother to change either my truck or my Spyder. I know they are an hour off and I just compensate.

Daylight Saving Time - Make sure to adjust your Spyder clocks - Spring Ahead!

I leave mine set on whatever time it is during the summer. I actually mostly don't care what time it is when I am riding.

I Killed My Battery - left it on a tender... New battery awaiting collection!

You would be money ahead to charge your new battery with a battery charger for a few hours. Failing that, or not having a charger, charge it overnight with the Tender.

    I am now Spyderless

That was good choice on your part. No hassle and fast cash. The end for me will come when something happens that I can`t fix and there it will sit, as I don't have the cash for a dealer to fix it. Glad you got to retire with honor, Pete; and I am glad you will continue to be around.
