• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Selling my Spyder - should I let them ride, or pillion?

I was simply going to say that you needed a liability release and cash in hand, but I think this is a far better option. One vote for this very wise suggestion.

    Backrest - BRP or Showchrome for a 2020 RT-L?

After a decade of riding without one, I think I'd like to add the support of a backrest. The two contenders seem to be the BRP stock backrest at $360 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZG3D38R/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1), and the Showchrome version sold by Lamonster and others at $212...

looking for some opinions on acceptable amount of miles when buying used..

In my experience, Spyders over 50K can start running into more issues just because of age (even if very well cared for). 8000-35000 miles might be a good range to look in. It can also help to know if a big maintenance is coming up (for example, my factory shocks have tended to need replacing...

    Review: BRP Go! is going...going...GONE!!

I agree that few products are perfect or problem free, but they released this and made a big about deal about it, yet it really doesn't work in any reasonable way. CarPlay would have been an infinitely better option, or just leave well enough alone and don't add functionality that doesn't...

Do iMotorsport charge fees & freight? Any hidden fees?

They did/do offer free delivery for Spyderlovers members - be sure to ask.

    Review: BRP Go! is going...going...GONE!!

What makes you think this will work with an iPhone? I tried to use it when I got my 2020 RT-L and quickly gave up because it was so terrible in every respect. Just attach your phone to your Spyder and use that. This is something that never should have been released.

Dealer says Demo Rides are not possible - any suggestions?

I haven't ready through all the comments so apologies if this has been covered, but even better than a brief test ride is renting one for the day: https://www.riders-share.com

998cc My current ride is a 2011 RT - is the 1330 that much better?

For example, this guy will rent you a 2021 RT for $95 a day east of Los Angeles.... https://turo.com/us/en/car-rental/united-states/menifee-ca/can-am/spyder-rt-limited/1406121

998cc My current ride is a 2011 RT - is the 1330 that much better?

Here is what I found, My 2010 was fine if it was just me, but with two of us I could really feel the drag. The 1330 feels like it gets me there faster and feels "better" at higher speeds. Also, my Pedal Commander feels as though it drastically speeds up response time, and makes the throttle...

    What is the difference between the '14, '15, & '16 RT's?

I went from a 2014 to a 2020. I love my 2020, except for the terrible cluster a BRP connect - for that reason I would prefer the older cluster design. In the end, though, I wouldn't make a decision just based on that. Perhaps there are have been some minor changes in the later years to...

Saw a Ryker in Amazon Prime TV movie 'The Peripheral'

On second look, I saw a quick close-up and I do think you're right. I'm thinking they just did a physical modification, it's easier and cheaper than computer animation in every shot.

Saw a Ryker in Amazon Prime TV movie 'The Peripheral'

Great show, but while it reminded me of a Ryker, it didn't look enough like one for me to think it was built using a Ryker. As to the sound, most of time in show like this it's always added in post. It could well be a Harley, or just about anything else. You'd be surprised how much of what...

    Watching Das Boot on tv.....

I think that's the point - a person can be evil, but that doesn't make every cell in their body evil. I have great pity for many of the Russians who are being sent to the Ukraine, and I would like to see as few of them die as possible in a Ukrainian victory.

Can Anyone recommend a good Dealer?

In 2020 when I looked at ordering through them (the Spyder I wanted was out of stock and identical version with a 2021 sticker was several thousand more - not their fault), they were still including free shipping for SpyderLovers members - just ask when you call. They were very straight...

There are actually a number of different cuts of Das Boot, both as a film and as mini-series, with some additional home video edits. More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Das_Boot

    Can-Am didn't get the memo I guess - 2023 Electric Motorcycles release....

A commuter two wheel motorcycle may very well have a useful place in their product range, as would an electric bike kept adjacent to nearby mountains and hills. It's also a place to start so we can eventually have the infrastructure to make electrical practical for riding several hundred miles...

    2023 Model lineup available

I get why they don't want to make internal changes, but I'm surprised that my 2020 color choice is still offered in 2023 (?), and there is virtually nothing new. I didn't always love the unique single year color options, but it was nice to think that each year you'd have at least different...

    Uhura passed

So much about what she accomplished feels mundane today; it was a huge deal to simply have somebody black on the bridge. The fact that what had been extraordinary has become to be expected is part of her legacy.
