• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Random thought for the day

Isaac Asimov was one of the truly great science fiction writers! I, Robot of course, and the Foundation Series, but I also liked Caves of Steel as the...uh...foundation of the Foundation Series.

    Random thought for the day

My brain went Kung Fu for a moment (the original TV series), and thought: Very wise, Grasshopper And then my brain went bonkers and started wondering if your full name was Grasshopperwolf, or Grasswolf, or some other absurd name. I'm going back to bed now, ignore the half asleep person who's...

    Random thought for the day

I remember having a conversation with my father about college and choosing what program to select for my studies. He said something similar to the Mark Twain quote: Do what you love, the money will follow. I know there was a book published in 1987 with that as a title, but the discussion with...

Is there any way to charge at more than the 2.1 amps from the USB on the Spyder?

The cable in the glove box is a USB A connector. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_hardware I installed a docking station on my handlebars from Spyder Extras, which is connected to the accessory power port on the right front of my Spyder. The documentation says it provides 2.1 amps.

    Winter Blues? No ride today...

Well, I was planning on riding today, Monday, February 23rd... and woke up to snow on the ground. I did check the weather report yesterday, and it said it would be cold, but I don't remember anything about snow! They're now saying the high today will be 31 F, a bit cold to ride, and with the...

2024 F3 Ltd - Is there a cover plate to go where the rear trunk sits if you remove it?

Okay, I see that now. It's the cover for the top case, not the replacement for the case.

2024 F3 Ltd - Is there a cover plate to go where the rear trunk sits if you remove it?

I have a 2024 Spyder RT Sea2Sky. When I bought my Spyder I received a large flat box that contained several things. The first was the driver's backrest and it's mounting hardware, but the biggest item was the cover that can be used to replace the top case if you remove it. There's a section in...

What is the 'proper' method to secure a Spyder on or in a trailer for transport?

I use a Stinger CAN-AM Trailer when I need to tow my Spyder somewhere. https://stingertrailer.com/product/stinger-for-can-am-spyder/ Stinger recommends: Use ratchet straps on each front wheel in a "cross" pattern: run a strap through the wheel, hooking one side of the strap to the opposite...

Prepping for the ultimate riding season - have I missed anything?

I remember driving Beartooth Highway. I was in a Geo Tracker with 4WD, which was a really good thing. It was late June and while trying to get through the pass I was caught in a snow storm and was very glad the roadway was marked with tall orange poles. When I got down out of the snow...

Has anyone fixed the CarPlay garbled speech?

Well, I didn't ride like I had planned, and it's currently raining here. It's supposed to be dry tomorrow, and if it is I will ride and report what happens. But just to be clear, I only use my SENA headset for Apple CarPlay navigation directions. I don't use Siri and I rarely get text messages.

Has anyone fixed the CarPlay garbled speech?

I use a Sena 3S Plus headset that I installed in an HJC helmet and use an iPhone 16e with my 2024 Spyder RT Sea2Sky. I haven't checked for updates for my Spyder recently, but I did update it not too long ago. I haven't checked for updates to the Sena headset recently, but it's been working...
