• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2016 Spyder F3 hard starting when hot.

I'd replace the relay that feeds the starter solenoid first. It's cheap and easy, and if the solenoid isn't getting a strong trigger signal it could cause your symptom.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Thanks, Peter. I wasn't aware it was a custom seat.

Can't you return it for a refund? Any reputable business should have a reasonable return policy.

Has this Clutch Late Lockup always been there???

The ECU has to engage the clutch gradually to smooth the starts and prevent stalling the engine. I suspect what you're feeling is this normal brief slippage of the clutch as it's engaging.

My Trailer Loaded for a Service Run

Well, technically, nothing was on the truck. ;) 🤣

https://spicerparts.com/calculators/transmission-ratio-rpm-calculator Funny, I don't see power, torque, exhaust system, vehicle weight, acceleration, deceleration, uphill, downhill, or anything other than gear ratios and tire diameter in that calculation. 🤣 🤣🤣

What did you do to your Spyder today?

With a manual tranny, the engine is locked to the rear tire through the drivetrain. It's mechanically impossible for an exhaust to affect that relationship.

My Trailer Loaded for a Service Run

NEVER load a trailer tail heavy. Insufficient tongue weight percentage will cause any trailer to sway, though fifth wheels are more tolerant of improper load balance.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Excuse me, but I'm failing to understand how a silencer can affect engine RPM at a given speed.:ROFLMAO:

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

The WORST thing for a new engine is to baby it during break-in. I always ride easy until the oil temp to comes up to normal, but after that, 10 to 20 short bursts of WOT up to 80% of redline is the best way to seat the rings. Give it a minute between pulls to allow the cylinder temps to...

UK Spec 2016 RTL - Is there any way to keep Low Beam on with the High Beam lights?

It should be a simple mod, but I'd only do it if you're running LED lights. This mod results in the ground lead carrying twice it's normal current, as it's shared between the low and high filaments, and will often burn the contacts in the connector, or the wire itself. With LED lights, the...

Gotcha. I didn't look close enough. LOL

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

I'm a big fan of an early initial oil change, but I do all my own work. In the first 500 - 1000 miles there WILL be higher wear levels, with a corresponding increase in oil contamination. Getting that stuff out of your motor may not be "necessary" as far as warranty is concerned, but it only...

    Random thought for the day

I still have a pair of Hog-Ring pliers from my Dad. They're also used a lot to secure automotive upholstery to the seat frames.

    Random thought for the day

Loved those movies. Back in 2000 at the Shelby convention at Charlotte Motor Speedway, I met a couple of the guys who ran the original Cannonball race with Brock Yates. They had some awesome stories, as you can imagine.:ROFLMAO::cool:

    Random thought for the day

No. It looks like the hour and minute hands are not co-ordinated. The hour hand is too close to the 6 o'clock position in relation to the minute hand.
