• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What could cause this Squeal on starting out in first gear?

Could some of the chirping be caused by overworking the alternator trying to charge a questionable battery? Seems like the only bikes with the squeal are 22-25's. Is this the Chinese junk battery era? My brother's HD is down now with a fried stator. He tried to get all the goody from a 7 year...

Why does the BRP Oil Change Kit have 5.5 quarts of oil?

When you change the HCM filter at 28,000 miles on SE6 machines when you do a oil change, my book says to refill it with 5.2 Qts.

Baldwin Ironworks cat delete install issue - having a hard time getting a seal! Any tips/advice?

In your photo the clamp does not look centered on the joint. Also your threads on the clamp bolt are orientated to the front where mine are oriented to the rear of the bike.

Is there a 'Full Tank' Triangle? If so, where? '22 RT

All aprons at gas stations are not level. If you want to really fill it up find a pump where the front of the bike is higher than the back and the left side is higher than the right side.

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

My 2016 RTL is an SE6. The SM6 and SE6 both use the same manual transmission. The difference is that the SE6 has a clutch that is automatic and a servo that shifts the transmission via the paddle shifter instead of using your foot. Same exact transmission.

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

Get Vredistein tires all the way around and get the pressure dialed in. Upgrade the antisway bar and get a stage 2 flash and see how much fun she is!

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

Jarrett, Your story is much like mine. I purchased my 2016 RTL on 9/22/20 with 4,722 miles that was placed in service on 12/30/16. Rode it back home on a 2-day trip of about 550 miles. First time driving a 3-wheeler. No maintenance records other than a dealer performed first service and the...

Smoke from the Canadian Wildfires reaching Wisconsin - anyone/anywhere else in the lower 48?

In checking the weather yesterday, the forecast for today called for hazy smoke after 4PM. I figured something must be burning. Heard about the Canadian wildfires on the early news this morning. There was definately something causing the sun and sky to look strange on the way home on the Spyder...

Here's how to check your Spyder's coolant tank level.

I take my cap off and shine a bright lite in through the opening and I can clearly see the level looking through where the access panel was.

2011 RT - Checking coolant level. What is the best procedure to remove the plastic rivet holding the right service cover ?

I pry up the center button a bit and then use my fingernails to get under the outside. Usually comes out easy.

No 'Read Card' warning message and 2016 RT won't start! Any ideas?

Do you hear the fuel pump cycle on when you turn on the key? If not check to see if the kill switch has been turned off by mistake.

Left headlight stopped working, but the Right headlight is still working - any suggestions on what to look at/try?

When mine went out I upgraded to the Silverstar Ultra which gave me more light but they warn you that they don't last as long. I ride about 17,000 miles a year and in less than a year 1 of them failed. I found LEDs from a company that were plug and play with no mods needed. I now have even more...

New Coolant will not circulate after refill, completing successful flush and change - anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it?

I suspect this was done after reading the horror stories of what can happen when mixing non-compatible coolant types. I flushed mine 2x when changing mine last time to a different brand.

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

Didn't know there is an auto mileage change standard. My car's recommended mileage change is 10,000 miles. It now has 230,000 miles and I have never had to add a drop. In looking at Amsoil's oil catalog they have a 25,000 mi oil that they guarantee protection.

22 Spyder RT Brake issues - EBC Rotor larger than OEM & abnormal/uneven pad wear. Does any of this make sense?

My '16 RTL has 60,000 miles on it. Should I be concerned, or are the '22 & '23 year rotors bad?

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

What is the procedure for pulling the sample without draining the oil? Do you warm the cycle up and use a syringe with a hose run down the dipstick tube? What length of hose is needed for the 1330?

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

Back to the original question, if you search the archives you will find an oil sample analyzed with a run time of 3 years and 9500 miles that came back with flying colors and another where the cycle had sat for over 4 years came back the same. Both were top recommended oils by this forum!

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

Normally I would agree but in this case the yearly service would be like having oil in your cabinet for a year and throwing it away because it is a year old.

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

900 miles in a year doesn't mean much to me. It depends more on the number of rides it took to get there. If you rode 10 times to get the 900 miles it would be much better than riding say 60 times. The oil needs to brought up in temp to burn off the nasty stuff that can accumulate from short...
