• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil - Full Synthetic or Synthetic Blend??

I order Amsoil from the factory directly. Free shipping on orders over $100 and many times shows up in only 2 days. I use the oil, powersports antifreeze, coolant boost, brake fluid, injector cleaner, and ethanol clean up in my bike.

Wish I had not gone with a Vredestien Tire

I'm on my 2nd Vred 205/60. The original Kenda that came on the bike was a hydroplaning nightmare at 10,350 miles when I changed it. The last Vred I almost got 30K miles and still handled wet roads extremely well. Corrected my speedo also. I've got better things to do than remove the tire every...

My first really, really close call on the Spyder

I was leading a group on a day when the sun was brutal but was from time to time getting covered by clouds. When the sun was fully out the lights on the bike behind me were barely visible but the bike behind him glowed a yellow very bright glow to the point I was thinking that not even a blind...

87 Octane seems to work just fine

I agee that 87 will work but please no hard acceleration from a low RPM. Learn to downshift before putting the hammer down. Lot more fun also.

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

They only show you the front that states a 10 point increase/tab. To their credit they do fess up on the back. I guess, what do you expect for a buck!

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

Just received the tabs. Finer print on the back states that 10 points = 1 octane increase. 1 tab will increase 10 points and 2 tabs will increase 17 points when used with 91 octane. I still plan on the trial but will use 2 tabs with the mid-grade 89 octane. Doing the math 89 + 1.7 should get me...

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

I got the 5 gallon version. Depending on how the last fill went, my gas light comes on when I have used about 5 gallons.

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

My overall mpg to date is 37.81. My overall cost/mile to date is $.1036. I ride pretty hard when I'm not cruising but most of my rides are fairly long with mostly cruising. I hope this stuff is not snake oil as I am not willing to tolerate any pinging or loss of performance during hard acceleration.

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

I don't really expect too much of an increase in MPG but hopefully some. The real change would hopefully be in cost/mile. The tablets only cost $1, so for 5 gallons I only need a $.20 decrease in the cost of 87 octane to break even. I have paid close to a $1.00/gallon premium for the good stuff...

The Auto Downshift is irritating for changes to 2nd & 1st - can anything be done to block those down-shifts?

Trying to pull away from a stop sign in 3rd would not be pretty. Saw this happen with a very experienced HD trike driver. Getting it restarted while in traffic is hectic. Of course he has a manual clutch. Quit using the auto downshift anyway. Keep your rpms up just in case you need to get away...

Just found these RPM levels for the 1330

Just trying to understand the meaning of the original post. I definitely don't contribute to any carbon build up on mine.

Just found these RPM levels for the 1330

Here is something I found on Lamonster's site: Here's something I picked up this morning that I thought I would share with you all. Great info for those of you that want to know how the 1330 clutch works. The clutch in the SE6 transmission is 100% dynamic. It is completely controlled by the TCM...

Just found these RPM levels for the 1330

This sounds like they are stating the RPMs for the SE5 on the earlier bikes.

My 2016 RT-L - Planning on an Octane Research project

I have now had my RTL for almost 5 years and put on almost 62,000 miles. I have records for all gas along with $/gal that I have bought since I have owned it. I did not keep track of octane level with each purchase but have used all levels. One thing I have noticed is the cost/gallon has the...

What's with the Herky Jerky on first cold start-up of each day? Any thoughts?

Mine does this also and the colder the day the worst it is. I think it is the computer figuring things out. Runs like a beast after some warm up time. I just don't crowd it right off the bat. Mine has never stalled!

    A Friendly Maintenance Reminder

Thanks. Last time I checked mine with the Kriket it was ~160. Maybe I have vibrations, but don't know for sure so if it ain't broke... And thank you @Jetfixer, see something, say something!

What benefit do these belt idlers do for my year of RTL? Always trying to improve her!

My MPG skyrocketed in ECO Mode - is ECO Mode really that much better?

I run in ECO mode, but I never shift when it tells me to. By keeping the RPMs up there is plenty of power and when I open it up I feel by not having WOT there is less stress on the drive train.
