• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Preparing The Mounting Frame Before we mount the extended right angle bracket with its extra hole to the rear hanger we need to prepare the mounting frame. Two of the bolt holes that we want to use on the mounting frame are right where they bent that part of the bracket to make the frame...

Drilling The Extra Holes Here is how I bolted two brackets together to make sure I got the position of the extra hole just right. The brackets shown are ones we use later, but the idea is the same. All of the hanger and right angle brackets have the same hole spacing, so it doesn't matter...

Extending The Rear Hanger We have to extend the rear hanger as well, in order to mount the saddlebag frame at the correct height. We do that by attaching one of the two extended right angle support arms supplied in the fitting kit. Just as the extension on the front hanger performs a double...

Closeup Detail Of Front and Third Hanger Mounting Let's review the mounting of the front and third hangers. Note that the third hanger is not just to stop the bags from wobbling inwards under the weight of their load or road surface irregularities. The third hanger actually extends the length...

Adding Stabilisers To The Hangers Each hanger has an additional piece bolted to it, to allow the saddlebag frame to sit at the right height, and to stabilize the bags so that they don't bend inwards and bounce up and down. By now you should have modified the front hanger before installing it...

Aligning The Hangers Only two brackets need to be cut or shortened for each side, and two extra holes also need to be drilled for each side. I will give details as we go, including how to finish the holes and the cuts and prepare them for painting. The next part, the slight twisting of the...

Installing The Hangers There are six hangers, about 8" long, with an offset bend on one end, and six holes drilled in the long, straight section. These form the basis of the brackets; three are used on each side. Before you mount the front one you need to cut off the bottom section, about...

The First Step The first step is cosmetic. Remove the screws from the grab rails, one side at a time, and pull the grab rail off its mounting. Inside the mounting on the grab rail is a black mudguard washer - that is, a washer with a much larger outside diameter than normal. Replace this...

Here Is An Overview Of The Mounting Syustem My aim was to use the brackets supplied. I don't have a vise, but I do have a drill and an angle grinder, so everything had to be achieved with just those tools. The bags are braced at the rear. Because the frame mounting system supplied is so...

    F3 Front Sprocket Inspection

    1) "Everybody" who said clunking is "bad" would be quite wrong. The clunking occurs during the gear change when the drive is not connected to the output sprocket, because the clutch is disengaged. Motorcycle gearboxes are constant mesh and ratios are changed by sliding "dogs" (very coarse...

    New Corbin Seat

Can't agree. They fixed ours twice and ended up giving us a free standard seat after my redesign did not work as expected. It took a long time, but did not cost us any extra. I would give them top marks for service. We were very polite and not at all demanding in conversation. I can't help...

    Madstad Windshield for F3T/L

You can get a wider Madstad We ordered a wider/higher Madstad for our F3. It's 1" wider each side and at the top. I haven't sat behind Mrs G yet (the main reason I wanted a larger screen) but she reckons it is smoother than the older one. Just waiting to refit the original spring back on...

    Corbin bags.

Corbin Service Is Not As Bad As Some People Make Out We bought a Corbin seat in March and sent it back to be remanufactured because, even though they show the measurements on the site, I didn't realise that the rider seat was lower and further back than standard. This also meant that the rider...
