• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    for all Illinois citizens

I found this link interesting... and it will provide Illinois citizens with something to think about. I saw it on the GL1800riders.com site and I hope providing you with this link is acceptable. If it isn't I'm sure LaMonster will remove it or let me know so I can.

    Helmet air conditioner needed...

I've been in the north Georgia for the past few days. Hot, d:cus: hot... on the 15th 104 near macon and 102 on the 16th. Only God knows what it will be today. Brains are slow roasting in a full helmet, half helmet and I won't ride without a helmet. That's the law I enacted for myself many...

    185/60 14 on Front

I would suggest 18 to 20 to begin with... if it is too soft increase about 1 psi at a time. These suspensions can get a little squirrel ly with too much pressure. The walls of the CT's are usually a little stiffer than the kenda's that come from the factory and shouldn't take as much air...

    whats wrong with this thing

Could it be all the sensors are doing exactly as designed? If I read it correctly it only does this when you are doing a really hard stop... I take that as meaning nose dive and rear lift. Your system may be sensing a danger point or as the other post have stated loose or failing relay and / or...

    Deer Hit Update

Happy to hear that you are getting better... and hope that your spyder will be repaired and ready to go about the same time you are... I know that like the rest of us you would be out there riding it before you should if it weren't in the shop. Now having said the above... I've got one in the...

    Turns over, won't start

Good to hear your up and running again. Also glad to know it was only a fuse problem. Ride 'em safely. Ken krb1945

    Front Tire PSI

It seems 18 to 22 is the best area to run them. Keeps the tread flat on the road and doesn't let the sidewall bag and flex too much on hard turns. It took a while but we finally settled on 20 with the front shocks set at 5. Tried up to 22 but the ride started to get a little more harsh. We...

    Hot Weather Gear

Has anyone discovered a way to keep "skulls in helmets" cooler? We perfer to wear our multitec Shoeis. Temps here are now in the 98 range and my two gray cells are roasting. I've been thinking about making an air cooler to plug into the head gear but it is still in the gray cell development...

    Tow Vehicle

You won't have any trouble with the v6 or the vehicle towing your spyder. Although I do all my towing with an 09 F150 I just turned in my fleet 09 Taurus for a 2010 Taurus fleet unit. These V6's have about 265 hp and as long as you don't allow the transmission to constantly shift from overdrive...

    DIY Exhaust Y Gasket replacement

First let me say... WackyDan... "Great presentation". Last time I bought the honda gaskets they were $8 each and I bought 20 of them. However, I have know for years that anything in Lake City FL is higher than most other places except the "gold coast". Ken krb1945

    Aerocharged Silver Dream...

Maybe a rear with AA traction rating and one of the soft thread compounds for better grip. Something similar to the ones used on the Cobra or Viper. Ken krb1945

    Extensions on factory muffler

It won't reduce the heat on the right side... the only thing that will help with the heat is wrap the exhaust headers the 2 inch exhaust wrap and get more air flowing through the engine compartment. Ken krb1945

    Extreme Heat

Be sure to use the goldwing exhuast gaskets for replacements. They work better and last longer. I also wrapped the headers all the way back to y-gasket clamps. That seems to keep the heat in the pipe by 400 to 600 degrees depending on the area on the pipe check. We have noticed a big difference...

What is the green liquid leaking....

It's a good idea to change the Oteiker clamps to the worm screw type. The factory clamps have a tendency to loosen at the most inopportune time. A while back I returned from a short ride to the smell of hot coolant. Now most of our clamps have now been changed. Just waiting on a ride rainy day...

    Extensions on factory muffler

Yep... if you put a CH46, Shinook or huffer tubrine in your spyder BRP and their dealers won't work on it. You have to call GE, Sicorski, Boeing or some other company. Also some of the boat builders in south Florida will work on the engine but they want really big bucks.:D I would like to see a...

    Still thinking about it

NO "bull" a statement of facts! Scotty is telling you straight about the factory paying attention. I know this for fact. A friends warranty expired in april... he changed his oil and filter again this month. When he started it the check engine light came on and would not go out. He was...

    Extensions on factory muffler

Red tips and then put a flash suppressor like on a BMG 50... might be an attention getter. I think for the time being I'll keep them chrome. I did file the slant cuts smooth and then with the Q-tip I carefully put the high temp silver on the cut so the bronze doesn't show the gold color. I...

Motul 300V Factory Line 10w40 T4 racing oil.

The two top synthetic oils on the market today are AMSOIL AND MOTUL. If you use either your spyder will reward you with a long engine life. Even if you run the heck out of it... those two in particular are the best money can buy. Ken krb1945

    Extensions on factory muffler

On the slant cuts... I will take some of the silver 2000 degree paint I have and using a Q-tip put it on the actual cut being careful not to put it on the chrome. I believe this might help seal the angle cuts and lessen the bronze showing after the cut. Do you think that will work? Ken krb1945

    Trip end in near desaster

Check your drive belt too. There were some mighty tall temperatures coming out that break. I see some discoloration on the corner of the gas tank... there may be some damage to the sealant between the halfs of the tank. Ken krb1945
