• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Tupperware

Wings wear Tupperware.. Do Spyders wear it too? With the 2015 models out and about and the naked look is in, has anyone tried a similar effort with the older models or does all the plastic hide a multitude of sins?

    Fuse Problem

You might consider fitting a secondary system in parallel with the standard wiring with it's own fuse(s) which could be attached to a secondary fuse panel and connected to the battery. In this way any sensitivity in the original wiring loom would be returned to the machine. Many electronics...

    Went to Mobile 1

I wonder why they suggest a semi synthetic? Semisynthetic oils are not 50%synthetic, they are nearer 70% mineral oil and the rest are of synthetic components, surfactants, oil modifiers and anti scuffing agents, zinc and chromium etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting Perception of the Spyder in the MC Community

Whether they ride a thousand a year or fifteen is of no matter, they still ride! At one time I did about 25,000 plus miles a year on a Kawasaki 90cc. I went to rallies or camping on week ends. On the first engine I did 140,000 miles on the second one 250,000. Then I went on to 250's then sidecar...

    Air in the System?

With each occurrence has fluid been added to the system? Is it possible that the sensor has been compromised and is giving a false or at least a premature reading? This adding a large amount of antifreeze to a relatively small closed system is unusual in that it has to go somewhere! Perhaps if...

    Air in the System?

I don't see how a "sticky thermostat" would allow air into the system as it is sealed within the system! [emoji35] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    What would you buy?

Well thank you gentlemen one and all! The lesser of two weevils has a higher screen and a backrest so hopefully that will satisfy her ladyship as she has become spoiled with the Glad Wing. I like the Wing but I've had a few unwelcome dismounts which unnerved me somewhat! Sent from my iPhone...

    What would you buy?

I've been wandering the web for a Spyder. I live in BC Canada and have been scouring the nether space for an affordable ryde! I like to have wriggle room when I buy and this will be my most expensive, dare I say it, bike purchase and probably my last! Sadly the value of the Canadian Looney...

    Dead Spyder

If the machine has been sitting around for awhile the battery would have been marginal at best. It's not unusual to have to buy one when you buy a second hand machine, bargains can have a sting in the tail sometimes! When boosting from a car battery you have to be extra careful that the...

RS rider takes the F3 for a demo ride.

Perhaps when they are shipped from the factory the front end is partially removed, wheels fenders, plastic, battery and handlebars for more compact shipping and then reassembled at their point of sale.. Where realignment is omitted! At one time I assembled and prepared various machines for sale...

Tell me some secrets, tell me your lies :)

Thanks, it looks pretty good considering 😀 QUOTE=PistonBlown;1013545]It's winter down here at the moment, I'm still riding come rain or shine and believe me l my Spyder is filthy:-) I know what you mean though, I PM'd some photo's to someone the other day and automatically apologized for the...

    Frunk seal

If if you just smear the rubber with talcum powder it will release just fine and won't do damage. Oil grease and stuff like that can do damage to paint and even clothing given half a chance 😗 in the past I have found Dow's gasket goo to be great at bonding piping to car doors and trim to various...

Mirror, Mirror on the wall what costs Spyder's most of all?

Using a stethoscope is overkill, it is easier to just use a screw driver against the offending area and jam your ear against it. I serviced hospital equipment many years ago and had and still have a few instruments at my disposal that are ideal for service work :) scalpels, forceps, clamps, to...

Mirror, Mirror on the wall what costs Spyder's most of all?

A few posters have hinted at the high cost of maintaining a Spyder :lecturef_smilie: especially the "V" twin, can someone(s) enlighten me? What are we talking about here, regular stuff? Tires, fuel or oil and filters or visits to the hygienist?

    Things that don't fit

I was never too thrilled running with pack either, some had a death wish and others would carelessly take you down due to poor skills. I enjoy scratching the pegs but these days I prefer to get home without gravel rash and a tale to tell :) I've had some close ones in my 40 plus years on this...

Tell me some secrets, tell me your lies :)

Nearly every picture of Spyder's I see are of impeccable machines, rarely undressed and with barely a spatter on them, what's the secret? How does the rear wheel perform with the top of the fender missing in the rain, does everyone get drenched or just the passenger or is there something I'm...
