• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Tested and tested and it would not fail!! Took to dealer and left it. Surprise, surprise, it worked perfectly. No faults found. Will pick it up and drive it to see if the fault returns, although very few riding days left this year in Ontario.

    I used the handlebar mount that came with the Zumo XT. Works fine. I added the lock from Tour Tech to make sure it would not pop off and to discourage anyone from taking it.

    The dealer confirmed the motor is a worm drive (like a Wiper or power window motor) and thus will be self locking when stopped. Will do a bit of testing to see if there is any pattern to the failure and then take it back and leave with the dealer.

    I used the mounting hardware that came with the XT. The dealer mounted it and wired it at no charge before I picked up the RTL. Seems to be a good location and I don’t have to look down.

    Yes, the cable is moving and applies the brake, just as it should. Sometime later, the the pulley moves and releases the brake, while the bike is sitting there. It is an intermittent fault because after sitting all night, the brake was still applied today. That will be a challenge for the dealer!!

    The service manual shows the parking brake light (limit) switch at the pulley. From what I can figure, When the PB pushbutton is pushed, the motor starts, turns the pulley which pulls the cable tight, then the switch senses the correct position of the pulley and turns on the dash light.

    Yes, windshield works ok. The cable must be connected ok since the PB will apply whenthe button is pushed.
