• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder origins?? Or The Ultimate?? Just Go For It!

I put a 1/4 turn throttle on the Yamaha and turned it into a rocket ship from hell.

Anyone purchased from an out of town dealer? Is this common? Any concerns?

If my Spyder gives up before I do, iMotorsports or the one way flight would be my choice.

Has anybody fitted Dual 5” Screens Instead of Analog Gauges to their Spyder? Any advice, suggestions, or concerns?

I have a Samsung Z Fold with a wireless charging system that will securely hold the phone in either the open or closed position. What a distraction! I can't imagine dealing with 2 5" car play screens. It didn't take me but about two seconds to realise how dam dangerous and distracting a multi...

Spyder origins?? Or The Ultimate?? Just Go For It!

I rode with those guys too. The secret to keeping up or leading was huge cc's and knowing how to use them. My last and best ride was a 400 Yamerhammer mono shocker. Massive low end grunt and topend power with no end to it. It could really hurt you if and when you let it get out of control...

Anyone have ceramic brake pads? Any experience with Traild ceramic pads?

My only experience with ceramic pads was back when vehicle manufacturers started coming out with all wheel disc brakes. Ceramics didn't seem to stop you any faster, but they did wear out discs and warped them faster than conventional pads. Stopped me - from using ceramic pads!

Has anybody fitted Dual 5” Screens Instead of Analog Gauges to their Spyder? Any advice, suggestions, or concerns?

Replaced mine with a 12v (cigarette lighter) receptacle and the other with a multiple USB port.

Do People Get Thrown Off of Spyders?

The Spyder dealer and the Harley dealer in my neck of the woods are about a stone's throw apart. I often stop at the Harley dealership to look around because I miss my Harley. Enjoyed overhearing a conversation where a Harley rider pulled a Spyder pilot off his Spyder for cutting off the Harley...

Losing a bit of faith in Can Am - enjoy the riding, but not the endless waiting while they find parts and fix all the niggling issues!

I agree. But that doesn't help the reputation of the Spyder line itself. I've long held that Can Am's dealership issues will ultimately be the demise of the Can Am Spyder line of products. Bottom line, if you want to sell Spyders, you've gotta keep them on the road. Reputation demands that.

When Only On Street Angled Parking is available, do you back in, or drive in?

If the angled parking spot is on a slope, it can pose a serious issue for a 2-wheeler. But, those days are gone now.

LOL, that's the way I get off.

After 30 years I'm Riding again!

If you can swing a leg over it... Go Ride!

When Only On Street Angled Parking is available, do you back in, or drive in?

I didn't know they had those anymore? Anyway, when they did, I backed my 2-wheeled machine into those parking spots. Safer to back into a parking spot than to back into traffic. JMHO

Interesting item in Loaner Waiver at the dealership

Who cares? I've owned and ridden 2-wheeled, 3-wheeled, and 4-wheeled (sport) machines for 70+ years, and I've never been stopped, checked, or otherwise for any reason. I have a M/C endorsement, but why? Because some bureaucrats who know little to nothing about M/C's said so. Most bureaucrats are...

How do I buy controls for a Right-Hand Only Spyder?

Wes, you are not far from Baja Ron. I'd give him a call and see what he has to say. Good luck in your attempt to master a Spyder with one arm. Please keep us posted in your quest. I'm sure there's someone else out there who'd like to ride but has the same problem as you.

My Back between the shoulders hurts after 6 hours of riding - anyone else? Would handlebar risers help? Is this normal?

Though I've had all kinds of sports machines, I also had your issue. It's a new machine to you, and your body is not used to that riding position. I'd go with Cosmo's recommendations first before spending a lot of unnecessary money on things that may not work. Good luck.

Do People Get Thrown Off of Spyders?

What can you say, some people simply can't walk and chew gum at the same time, and the rest of us suffer for it. After herding cows for years on a quadrunner, the spyder was no challenge to me at all. When I let my wife drive the spyder for the first time, she said, "this is just like riding the...

Do I really need to Change O-Rings at Every Oil Change? Do you?

Save yourself from a possible future headache, get rid of those frick'n OEM oil plugs. They may work for a while, but when one strips out, you're in for some real fun. Toss'm now and save yourself from the inevitable. And yes, I closely inspect the rubber o-rings, and if still good, I don't...

Has anyone added Marvel Mystery Oil - any comments?

I've dumped a heavy dose of fuel additive/preservative into the tank and taken my machine for a short ride in the past before storing it for the winter. I couldn't tell any difference when I first started it up in the spring, regardless of whether I did that procedure or not. The best rule of...

Considering a Spyder - Can I Ask You Some Questions?

In short, you have to get into the water before you can learn to swim. Buy one, and if you don't like it, sell it. My GF has been 2up with me for over 50 years, both on 3 wheels and on 2 wheels. She's the one who chose the RT Spyder over the Harley. If the GF is not happy, no one is happy!

Has anyone added Marvel Mystery Oil - any comments?

Why would you add any substance to your fuel or oil if your machine is operating perfectly as it should?
