• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    The Morning Thread

I guess you are, but you should be aware that this is an International Forum and when it is morning in Minnesota, it is other than morning in the 23 other time zones of the world. It is around midnight in western Pacific time zones and late afternoon in the European time zones. If you wish to...

    The Morning Thread

I do not find it depressing at all. Death was an everyday part of three years of my life during the Vietnam War. The death hanging in the background, made the things of nature, like sun rise and sunsets, more perfect and not to be over-looked. It made those still alive, even more alive than...

Think of changing from a Freewheeler - is the Spyder any easier &/or safer?

I rode a Harley Sportster trike for about 30 years that I built myself. It was not much effort to steer, had a slightly raked and extended front end on it. Bought an F3-S five years ago. The F3 is much more stable and a smoother ride, but the steering effort is about the same. Another difference...

Spend all that time getting the headlights aimed just right, and then load 150 extra ponds of gear and supplies behind the rear spring attaching points. The headlights are aimed at the sky again.

Deer collision - safer on a Spyder? Thoughts? Or first-hand accounts?

The collision would not be any safer. You gain some advantages in slowing down before the collision with the interconnected brake system and the larger contact patches of the tires. The front end would buckle making the initial impact less jarring than hitting a deer with an all steel front end...

Anyone tried Rotating their front directional tires? Worth it?

Always rotate my tires. I back it out of the shop and rotate them in reverse for about 100 feet, then I put it in 1st and get them started rotating in forward for a while. About a mile of dirt road in 4th gear and it comes to the highway. Then I rotate them faster.

Yeah, that is about how it works. The more you learn, the less you realize that you understand. (“Curiouser and curiouser!” Cried Alice)

I can steer with my feet?!

The Spyder nanny computer does not quite qualify as an autonomous vehicle pilot.
