• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

About to replace the Fuel filter on my 2021 RT - what is the best type of hose clamp, and what sizes are needed?

If you go to the 2021 RT Fuel Assembly at this link: https://epc.brp.com/Index.aspx?lang=E&s1=441bf742-56c6-4d7b-9f81-b69368db7385#/Can-Am_On-Road/001_-_RT_-_Chalk_Metallic,_2021_(Built_After_Sept._2020)_000B2MA00_000B2MG00/02-_Engine_-_Fuel/Y2112/04YA301a/y and look at Ref #40p, Fuel Filter...

Should I get something showing I have bought the BRP Extended Warranty?

BRP was quite slow sending confirmation cards to owners when I purchased my extended warranty but that was quite a few years ago.

Has anyone bought &/or used Discount ESP Extended Warranty? NOT BEST!

Two questions: (1) how many times have you had to use your B.E.S.T. extended warranty; and (2) how many miles a year are you putting on your Spyder? IMO, it's smarter to rat hole some $$ each month to cover any unanticipated expenses on your roadster than to get into third party extended...

Did oil change & checked level properly; NO oil showing on dip stick - any ideas?

Just measured mine, 2014 & 2018 RT have same PN, and mine is only 11 1/8" measured same way as Dasmoetorhead's. 2018 F3 and 2022 F3S dipsticks have same PN.

Did oil change & checked level properly; NO oil showing on dip stick - any ideas?

This thread is interesting because it harkens back to the introduction of the 1330 ACE engine in which there was confusion about how to properly check the oil and read the dipstick. What's so difficult about reading a dipstick? The terrible editors and proofreaders of the 2014 RT Operator's...

Am I the only one having difficulties with Front Wheel removal on 2018 Spyder RT?

No, but as I read your post about having the brakes on because you wanted to retain the orientation of the wheels I just offered what I've done as a suggestion.

Am I the only one having difficulties with Front Wheel removal on 2018 Spyder RT?

If you are concerned about retaining the orientation of the wheel(s) to the lugs, mark a lug with a magic marker and do the same with the apropriate lug hole in the rim.

Am I the only one having difficulties with Front Wheel removal on 2018 Spyder RT?

What are the size of the tires you are attempting to remove? Have you tried turning the wheel(s) so the lug nuts are at 10 and 2 with the third one at 6?

How many States require a Motorcycle Endorsement for Spyders?

Because I let my original motorcycle endorsement lapse more than 50 years ago when I was moving about the country serving in the world's finest military force, I took the MSF basic course at the local community college to refresh myself and get the discount on insurance more than 10 years ago at...

What is involved with a Rear tire vs Front tires that makes it almost double the Mounting Cost? Drive belt?

I am willing to accept the cost of having the excellent Spyder tech at the dealership where I purchased it do the job because, amongst other things, whenever he does it he verifies the belt tension with a Gates electronic meter and its alignment. I've done several of the 28K mile services on it...

Does anyone have Heated Comfort Seat Installation Instructions they can share?

According to BRP, the black heated comfort seat at the link below should fit your 2014 RT, if the price tag doesn't choke you to death. If the price induces a gag reflex, call Motorcycle Dave, (209) 887-3283, and he may have some ideas, including modifying your seat...

Looking for routes from Buffalo NY to Athens OH

Here's a link from Google Maps for bicycling. Take it as a start and alter it as you choose. As it's created for bicycling it will keep you off any restricted access highways and you will ride along the lake. You don't say what you use for routing, a GPS device, or a phone in GPS mode...

How does the Older and Newer Generation RT Passenger seat/leg room compare?

Speaking from a semi-tall bloke (6'3"+) perspective, sitting on a bike will tell you only so much. Remember the old saying, "The girls all get prettier at closing time." You must test ride to see just how the roadster of your choice feels. My example, in 2016 I test rode a sharp looking and fun...

Only One Oil Plug on 2024 RT?

Look at from another perspective. Perhaps the engineers decided a T45 Torx and 6 mm Allen head plug were appropriate because they were for something special, and they are, for releasing a flood of oil from the engine. Why do some Spyder owners find the crankcase plug stripped out? Because some...

F3-T third service at ~15k miles

I do my own so I can't claim any accuracy on an oil change cost estimate, but think ARtraveler's estimate is probably in the ballpark. The BRP price for the 8 individual parts called for in an oil change (filter, O-rings and 2 metal gaskets, one copper, one aluminum) should be just below $50...

F3-T third service at ~15k miles

How many miles or months has it been since the second service was performed? Look at pages 125-126 of your Operator's Guide and you will see most of the items listed at 9,300 miles or 1 year (whichever comes first) are visual inspections except performing a pressure test of the cooling system...

Does anyone leave the parking brake off during winter storage? And some rodent protection discussion...

For more than 10 years and 90K+miles I have been leaving my Spyder in Neutral with the parking brake on, a Battery Tender Jr. (comped by the dealership at purchase) connected, and I have never had a problem. With the SE6 transmission, one can move the Spyder by hand when it's in gear with just a...

Only One Oil Plug on 2024 RT?

If you have not yet read in thorough detail, pages 131-134 of your Operator's Guide, that tells you how to properly check and change the oil in your Spyder, and that should be your first priority IMO. FWIW, many owners on this forum have swapped out the OEM crankcase and clutch cover plugs for...

Front cargo “frunk” contact switch not working - can it be disabled with BUDS? Any ideas to fix?

Don't know if RT has no liner; such would probably give better light.

Front cargo “frunk” contact switch not working - can it be disabled with BUDS? Any ideas to fix?

The '14 RT-S has the frunk light activated by the switch above the black removable panel that allows access to the B.U.D.S. receptacle. As I sit on the roadster the frunk liner has a mesh pouch with an elastic closure band sewn into the liner at its front center. The light is directly to the...
