• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Who Uses Shell Rotella T-6

Thinking hard about 15/40, it's working for you? Tell how it's better for you than the 5/40 if you will. I know it's heavier, and may even reduce the mpg.....

    Mechanic Wanted in Florida

Oh yeah, I know AR, I live in Sebring FL, and I want to make a trip to his Greenville just see what needs done on my 2020 RTL. I'm sure there's something I can't live without. I have a friend from Post Office days that lives in Kodak, TN, wants me to visit. Greenville is only an hour or so...

    Mechanic Wanted in Florida

Ron, I think your comment says it all. I see the Spyder a complicated piece of equipment, and I'm not even a mechanic. Just thinking about getting the Tupperware off gives me pause. But my 2020 RTL speaks to me in good ways, and always does what I ask of it giving me that comfortable ride...

    Mechanic Wanted in Florida

Overall, BRP has a good product with the Spyder, it's too bad they don't exercise more control over the dealers and the tech's. But then that's probably a problem with most of the motorcycle brands. Most dealer's are now charging $125/$150 an hour work on the Spyder, to me that's high dollar.

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

Ron, are you using 10/40 Synthetic, if so, what brand?

    Who Uses Shell Rotella T-6

Oh yes, why they dumped the 10/40 is none of my business, but I continue to look for another brand I suppose, which might be Mobil One.. I had a wild thought of half T6 Rotella 5/40 and half T6 Rotella 15/40, but that could be a dumb thought.

True that, from Sebring a fun trip can be had.

    Mechanic Wanted in Florida

Wow, a serious day trip to get there early and get it done. Worth every mile if you trust your dealer and the Spyder mechanic.

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

Ron, you talk I listen. Mobil One is all I can find in the full synthetic 10/40, is that what you are using?

    Mechanic Wanted in Florida

You are so right PMK, I live in FL, and it's 40 miles to my nearest dealer I avoid going there if possible, not because it's bad, but because it's a day out of my life just sitting around doing nothing. If my Spyder did not fire up and run for whatever reason and I could not fix it, that would...

Anybody used Castrol EDGE Euro 5W-40 A3/B4 Adv Full Synthetic Motor Oil?

Anyone using Castrol Actevo 4T 10W/40? It is a blend, and MA/MA2 rated with a motorcycle shown on the front of the container. It is what I'm looking for and the weight specified in the Owner's Manual. Readily available at Walmart. Amazon comments are all good for motorcycle use in Florida...

    Who Uses Shell Rotella T-6

Rotella T6 5/40, I've not been able to find 10/40 or I would use it. I've often wondered if Rotella T5 blend 5/40 would be OK but haven't tried it. If I'm gonna get up under there and go through the motions, might as well go for the best. I've also thought about T6 15/40 since I live in FL...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Installed a show chrome shock under my seat, finally! Hallelujah! One OEM BRP replacement by the dealer, it failed; so I got the Show Chrome; & I now have access to my fuel filler. Wow, what a difference! I'm sure there are those that had an easy time with that install, I did not, but I got it...

Do Spyder Drive Belts age or wear out?

I am totally amazed at BRPs ability to build the Spyder with parts that just seem to last forever, and then there are seat and rear trunk OEM shocks that are just plain trash.

Do Spyder Drive Belts age or wear out?

Thanks Ron, gives me confidence, but then, I'm not a hard rider. The 20 RTL is perfect for me. Minor problem, it awaits in the garage for me to climb up under to release the clip that holds the seat shock in the up position. Now to do that, I need to wait for my hip to heal from some work on...

HowTo: RT seat and trunk shock strut replacement

Sadly 2dogs what you post is true. I keep saying I sure like my 2020 RTL, on the long ride I always have that uneasy feeling this thing is gonna crap out on me a long way from nowhere but that can happen with the TriGlide or whatever. Not that I am partial to HD, not so, just they seem to be...

HowTo: RT seat and trunk shock strut replacement

Well said 2dogs. One would think BRP would get the message, they don't. They sell enough without getting the message.

Looking at Slingmods Luggage Rack - any feedback? How does it look on '24 RT?

Wow, a whole month, enjoy the journey. My rack does a good job on a week, or more, getaway for the two of us I have a rain proof bag I usually put light items in, like clothes. Just a quick bungie release and take it to your room. 47 gallons capacity and the rack works good. Might not be...
