• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Probably a stupid idea - thinking I might go from a 2018 F3 Ltd to an RTL S2S - am I crazy and should just keep what I have?

All of your readers may have an opinion, but only you can decide if you want the smell of new paint. Your 2018 has a lot of life left in it, but it is nearly 8 model years old. I would not make a decision (my opinion, anyway) based on CarPlay - many of us have been burned by the lack of any...

2025 F3 Special Series - is there any reason that wiring the heated seat to the unused heated passenger handgrips wiring might not work?

A question would be does the system have enough wattage available to actually heat the seat. That stated, both hand holds were heated so maybe there enough wattage. Measure resistance of one hand hold, then multiply by 2 to get total wattage of the OEM load. Here's a link to a wattage calculator...

Oop's! Look out BRP, Honda has a new 3-wheeler coming out!

After the ATC fiasco with lawsuits for unstable 3-wheel vehicles, it would be a cold day in Hades for them to put 1800cc on 3 wheels.

Right low beam on F3 burned out - should I replace both headlights?

That life number is under optimal conditions; it doesn't factor in things like the road vibration and on/off cycling. Many electronic failures happen during the start/stop cycle. A filament bulb like a halogen or incandescent bulb, cannot take the vibration, however minor in the Spyder, and I...

No bright headlights, dims work fine - any ideas?

If OEM halogen bulbs, the high beams are likely burned out. That has happened regularly to me until I switched to LED headlights. There are no shutters in the 2018 models, just dual beam lights. The challenge is that to replace the bulbs, significant body panels must be removed. My hands/arms...

Is this Krikit Belt Tension still too tight?

Like Mikey said, run it. There are some in this thread who missed the point I was trying to make on noticing and feeling an harmonic vibration riding on a H-D due to the inherent vibration of the engines. The correct part of his statement was the engine is not running to adjust belt tension...

Is this Krikit Belt Tension still too tight?

Thank you for the detailed explanations (multiple) that you have given! The sonic tool would depend on mass of the belt and tension, while looking for a frequency response. Like tuning a stringed instrument. The Krikit is a direct indication of tension, my preference; that stated, there is error...

Is this Krikit Belt Tension still too tight?

I have run 120 - 140 via the Krikit with the vehicle loaded/sitting on the ground for over 10 years. Especially when the engine mounted drive sprockets were failing and some transmission shafts, prior to a solution from BRP. The swing arm geometry increases belt tension as it is compressed...

What can you tell me about this unit on my Rear shock?

That's the remote reservoir for the Fox Factory Series 2.0 Podium RC2 Rear Shock. The two settings on it are for adjusting damping, high velocity and low velocity events. Go to page 13 in this Fox manual to understand the settings. This manual is not specific to the Spyder's shock, but explains...

What would cause the Brake linkage bolt to fall out?! Any insights?

Presumably, it was the bolt for the linkage rod onto the master cylinder; otherwise , the brake linkage rod would have doubled up under the Spyder. The bolt is a shoulder bolt that has a flange head coupled with a nylon lock nut. By design, the brake rod exerts no lateral tension on the bolt: it...

Deer collision - safer on a Spyder? Thoughts? Or first-hand accounts?

It's the randomness of the occurrence that renders one statistically more viable for an outcome than the other. I've seen both ways on a two-wheel vs a Spyder; survival vs not. Keep you head on a swivel when riding in deer (animal) prone areas. Bear, deer, dogs, cows, moose, etc; they will all...

Has anyone had a vibrating mirror on F3-S? Not RT Style mirrors!

Yup, you are correct CRSpyder3, and I failed to comprehend F3-S and went down a different rabbit hole. We've had multiple F3-S machines, and I still have a 2015. Mirror vibration at idle has never been an issue. I see the part numbers have changed between the 2015 and the 2024 model years...

Speedometer accuracy - when I set my Cruise to a certain speed, the speedo doesn't match - any others??

Every speedometer on every vehicle I have owned since the 1960's has error. GPS and cellphone apps just give us the ability to view that error more precisely. Some of the variable are: tire size, tire pressure, load on the machine, wind resistance, and the calibration of the sensor (on modern...

Has anyone had a vibrating mirror on F3-S? Not RT Style mirrors!

The "clip on" mirrors are notorious for being vibration-prone. Lamonster Garage sells a kit to replace the clip and stud with a bolt in place method. It's a bit more cumbersome to remove the mirrors when needed, but it got rid of the motion blur in the mirrors. Alternatively, you can make a set...

Adding USB ports to 2024 Spyder F3T - anyone tell me what these wires are for?

PowerSports Diagnostics just uploaded the 2023 F3 manual with electrical schematic. BRP has changed to a relay to drive the heated grips vs a direct switch. #1 and #3 wires are, indeed, grounds. The #2 wire (OR/RD) is for the annunciator light and is common to many of the dash lights on the...

Adding USB ports to 2024 Spyder F3T - anyone tell me what these wires are for?

Those are the wires/plugs for the Heated Grips (left side) and for Fog Lights (right side) on North American models. The power wire won't become energized until after the engine is started due to the load shedding relay system used; more power available to crank the engine. Start the engine...

Help please, I'm confused about the F3 handlebar options

I didn't read this full thread, but jetfixer has an Attitude (U-Fit position 4) handlebar for sale on this site. Personally, we have short reach on our F3-S, -T and -L models for a more upright (anti-sport bike) position.

What's the difference between F3 Ltd & F3-T? Anyone switched fm RT?

If the RT was the only Spyder, I'd ride a Harley. I ride 1-up, so don't need the additional seating. I prefer the sportier handling and ride of the F3 family of Spyders. Yes, I've taken 5K mile trips on my F3-S. You've hit on the differences; the F3-T and the -L have the same drive train. There...

Anyone willing to disable DESS on 2015 F3S around Cody WY

You might be able to get someone at the Vendor display at the Deadwood 3-Wheel Rally in early July. I think Squared Away will be there doing wheel alignments. Contact cptjam or Ann Meyer directly to validate if they could do it; both are on this forum and also on the FB Spyder groups.

The pictogram on the Mode switch and Handbrake switch is fading - anyone have any ideas?

I can't tell from the photo if it's oxidized or worn. If oxidized, there are treatments that can be applied to the surface to restore depth of color and gloss. As you are in GER, stating a specific brand may not be useful. Choose one that does not leave a greasy film; older ArmorAll products...
