• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone put a Can-Am Spyder into a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van?

I remember seeing that rig at a SpyderFest or two!

Made myself an Adjustable brake rod on the cheap!

Nice DIY! Be cautious, though, that as the brake pedal drops in height relative to the footing position, it also changes the ratio of the brake pedal arc and the plunger displacement in the master cylinder. If flattened too much, there were be little master cylinder plunger movement, which could...

After your wisdom regarding Headlight Replacement?

I, too, run with my brights on during daylight. I've had many failures since 2015, some with just a few thousand miles. It seems that there is enough vibration to kill a filament-type bulb, including halogens. We have not had a failure since switching to Lamonster LEDs. (We have Lamonster LEDs...

This was an old thread but great to see the updates!

Sprocket Recall - What's Wrong With BRP's Logistics?

I called Freedom Powersports, Weatherford, yesterday. The service guy stated they were getting sprockets in 1 - 2 weeks upon ordering, but he wanted my VIN numbers to make the order. Doesn't seem they were stocking any.

Sprocket Final Fix Update from Shawn Smoak

I haven't seen parts in-my-hand, but the washer appears to fill the ditch/groove at the end of the splines on the transmission output shaft, and would be assumed to be consumable, just like the sprocket (vs the shaft). I would test the hardness on the washer: it is probably less than the...

    Sprocket vs Shaft final drive

Please re-read my original post. I stated engine rotation alignment and the need for one less direction change. The vehicles you cited also require a differential at the drive axles: the nearly coaxial alignment of the the engine, transmission and drive shaft support the system. With the current...

    Sprocket vs Shaft final drive

A lot of discussion on Smoak's post about belt/sprocket vs shaft as the final drive. I think that discussion deserves its own thread. All drive trains that I can think of that use a shaft as the final drive have the engine mounted such that only one direction change is needed: the engine...

Have BRP's Supply and Inventory problems been resolved?

Slightly off topic: perhaps they have SAP enterprise software, that farce of a company that spread like wildfire through the CEO and BoD halls in corporate America. I worked for a multinational company which, during their attempt to implement SAP, shut down all ordering coming out of Can for 2...

Accidentally hitting the starter button while the engine is running

Before LED headlights, I always rode with high beams on during the daylight. Most of my riding time was daylight. Bulbs will burn out when used (hot filaments and vibration don't go well together). The filament "on" the longest will be the first to fail. I'd rather lose my high beams and have...

    Highway RPM - F3T vs F3L

At the end of the day and ride, I usually will need 0.2-0.3 gals more over a 5 - 6 gal fill in my T than the L; that's about 5% more gas for the same number of miles ridden.

Opinions on un-weighting front suspension during Winter storage?

Whether stored over winter, as up north, or ridden 12 months a year, as down south, I've not heard of spring collapse on these machines. What can happen is the tires may develop flat spots from the extended sitting. Most would not be permanent given a few months duration. When we lived "up...

My 2022 Spyder F3T missing air suspension...

Per brp.com, the 2022 F3-T has manual adjust air suspension assist. "Suspension Front: SACHS Big-Bore shocks, Rear: SACHS shock with manual air preload adjustment". For the F3-L, the air preload adjustment is via an integrated air pump; there is no Shrader valve at least from 2018 to-date. The...

My 2022 Spyder F3T missing air suspension...

Here's a photo of my 2018 F3T with the valve location marked, where it is absent in your photo. The Shrader valve is held in by a E-clip around the valve body. Perhaps the clip came off or wasn't installed and the valve is on the bike but has dropped out of its mounting hole. I live in...

    Need advice on Obstacle avoidance?

Hitting something on a 2-wheeler could be more devastating than on our Spyders. Two-wheelers are more responsive to a quick left/right, or vice versa, than our Spyders. More responsive is incorrect: it's easier for the rider due to lean on the 2-wheel vs the flat ride of the Spyder. But I could...

    Was it a flip of a coin - Heads it's Torx/Tails it's Hex?

If a properly fitted Torx bit is used, it's difficult to strip. Care is needed when selection the proper sized bit: it will fit nearly tight in it's socket. If it doesn't, you've picked the incorrect size. I can use a #25 to work on a #27 screw but I will damage both the screw and probably the...

Anyone have a toy hauler for a Spyder RT?

Grand Design Momentum 381M fifth-wheel. 15' garage. Haul 2 F3 models: an S, a T and an L, in various combinations. The S has a set of Givi 37 liter paniers which adds substantially to its width across the back. The first is ridden in front-first; the second is backed in. Added wheel chock...

Front Sprocket Recall - Interim Repair Completed

No incorrect info, Pete! My response, and that of PMK, was to add depth into causation and definition of the mechanism of failure. Fretting is not worrying, in this case. The randomness of failure could be when certain surface finishes and mating steel conditions, along with lubrication...

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

Sep, 2007, Dulano's Pizza, Mpls, MN: saw the part of the demo model fleet and talked to a loud-mouth salesman whom stated they were going to sell better than Harley and he would hold extreme pricing, blah, blah, blah. But it did catch my eye and I really liked the concept. First ride was a year...
