• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

+1 for patch it from the inside.

What do you use for Cleaning and Protecting the matte bits?

Well, ammonia is known to cut floor wax. Try a little spot to see how it comes out. We use Mother's Back to Black on the matte black and original Armor All on the shiny black.

Is this a New procedure for Belt Alignment on 2021 RT's?

Okay, that could have been *much* clearer. AFAIK, the only adjustment is at the rear axle. So adjust (tilt) the rear axle so the belt doesn't ride on the rim at the front sprocket. Or leave it alone if you don't see a problem.

    Dragon or Rattler?

Any way to get from Lake Junaluska to Hot Springs is a good way, so I guess that's a vote for 209.

A plea to site Icons and those posting DIY videos. Attention Newbies.

IMHO, Can Am contributes to this problem. Their motto seems to be: Take an elastic stop nut. Smear Loctite on it. Jam it on with an air wrench anyway.

Thank you for letting me join your club

Welcome aboard, Cheryl. In contrast to Blueknight's recommendation, my wife loves her Spyder RTL. We learned three-wheelers on Rykers but they made her arms hurt. The Spyder with its power steering is just the ticket. If at all possible, wrangle a ride on each kind and compare.

Need a replacement Fog Light switch - anyone else? What did you get?

Suggestion: Read the switch and Google any names or numbers you see. Somebody made that switch and it wasn't Can Am. Some electrical outfit that makes switches by the million.

2021 RTL- Where's the factory toolkit location??....

Here's what I found in the kit from my 2020 RTL: A 10 / 13 mm open end wrench Same size socket for use with the screwdriver. Four double-ended blades for the screwdriver handle. One end flat. one Philips, five Torx, and one 6 mm Allen. Two regular Allen keys, one 6 mm and the other either 4 or...

Chrome Valve Caps are Helpful on Black Rims!

If you are blessed (?) with black wheels as I am, put some chrome valve caps on the valve stems. It keeps your eyes from falling out while looking for black valve stems with black caps on a black wheel.

Would that device be a Spyder?

Just a question about my 1 gal reserve fuel location and any "Venting" concerns.

+1 for Peter. Gasoline vapor is heavier than air, so I would let it out the *bottom* of the ammo can. When I went to boat driver's school they taught us that one cup of gas spilled into the bilges and allowed to vaporize there is the equivalent of 15 sticks of dynamite. Someone in South...

Dealer saying rear lid shock replacmt not covered by warranty - thoughts?

If it's stock, the dealer should be on the hook for the repairs. If you are tired of hearing excuses, a new one should be just over $20 at McMaster-Carr. And there you can choose one that's a little stronger than stock.

Anyone had a problem with a new crossover pipe on a 17 RT? What else could it be?

Riffing on what Ron said, make sure you have all three springs at the front. Following his suggestion, I dropped the cat converter and the pipe in front of it, put the springs on, then put the whole thing back. Also it is possible to put those joints together without the donut. So please make...

What the heck is going on with my '22 RTL Gutless wonder? Anyone?

Please, you need to look into this. My wife and I were recently cruising down I-75 at 75 MPH. With no sign it wouldn't go faster. And we are real porkers. Let's say the bike was FULLY loaded.

Needed new tires. Dealership said what?!

Don't think of it as a fart - think of it as a motorcycle supercharger.

2022 RT-L - is jacking using the rear shock mount safe?

We like our forum members and want to see them all healthy. Please buy, borrow or steal a real motorcycle jack. It is immeasurably more stable than an auto jack. Ask me how I know. AFTERTHOUGHT: If you do decide to jack under the rear shock, remember to chock the front wheels. The parking...

Does Belt Tension Vary with the wheel on the ground or in the air?

It varies considerably. Sitting on the ground mine has a tension of arguably 150 pounds. Jacked so the rear wheel is off the ground it has no tension at all, you can move the belt with your finger. I suppose that in an ideal world it would never vary. But that would require the swing arm...

2020 RTL Seat strut barely holds the seat open - ideas?

That's a capital idea and easy to install as well.
