• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

... and to have it less viscosity and flow better, I know; but I'm wondering how you get it there. I've now found some other threads in the meantime that talk about taking a 10-15 minute ride, or letting it idle until the fans cycle twice, etc.

Advice on mobile phone placement, what would work?

If you want to go for the RAM ball mount, I have a RAM X-grip ball mount for sale, minus the connector arm. (Just the xgrip with the ball on the back.) $10 + shipping for any SpyderLover.

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

I see that in these videos and the service manual, the engine should be "warm" when changing the oil. What do y'all do exactly do get it somewhere between "cold" and "too hot"? I know the temp gauge on the dash is intake air temp, not oil temp gauge. So what exactly is your process to make it...

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

Awesome post, Gwolf, thanks! I had it up once for the cat delete install on some backwards ramps with no issues, then jacked the back up and built a crossed wood stack to support the rear wheel, then lowered on the wheel onto it. All was very stable. You can find pics in my "how to" cat...

Too hot to handle - heat on inner thighs fm glovebox - any suggestions?

If you mean the pipe from the headers to the primary muffler/cat delete, I asked about this in another thread, and the consensus I got was that it would not help much. If you mean your delete itself, I got the RLS one that is ceramic coated already.

Too hot to handle - heat on inner thighs fm glovebox - any suggestions?

I have a 2019 RTL, and my ignition key, glove box, and front of seat all get quite hot here in 100 degree Texas. I have the RLS cat delete, and SpyderPop's right side heat shield to redirect that heat down. I drilled four or five 1" holes in the floor pan to allow that blocked heat to escape...

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

Sounds like great news, thanks! I did buy some ramps, but also bought a low-profile motorcycle/ATV drain pan, so may not need the ramps for future changes (I will probably use them this time so I can see what I'm doing better.) Regarding the plugs, I am going to replace the OEM plugs with the...

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

I waited until this morning (Prime day) to buy the stuff, and saved another $20+ due to sales. FWIW, Castrol Power1 4T 10W-40 Full Synthetic Motorcycle Oil, 1 Quart, Pack of 6 is on sale for $50 today. https://a.co/d/bXOdCn4

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

He's not exactly a minion, but I met Daniel at SpyderPops during the Hot Springs rally. He did quite a bit of work on my bike. He's a fantastic guy!

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

Thanks! I have adapters already. You should have seen an order for the full hi flow oil change kit come through!

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

I had already done a thread on belt tension, and decided I was already within spec, and that job was best left to the pros, lol. While this one does seem scary cheap, it gets very good reviews all around, including some that mention they have used for axle nut removal (if I ever go that far.)

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

Thanks! I'm going to get BajaRon's kit for this first one, which includes replacement magnetic plugs.

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

Here's my shopping list... need to go verify I didn't get rid of my oil pan during the last garage sale, and that it holds 6 qts.

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

Awesome stuff in there, thanks! I've always run my oil to the local oil change shop on the corner. (Stopped two cars ago though.) I will check into autozone. Since I'm in Texas, I think I'm going with 10W-40 or even 15W-40, but the rest of this plan looks great. I didn't know Ron also sold kits...

Trying to decide if I want to start doing my own oil changes - what should I budget?

NOTE: please do not turn this into a "which oil is best" thread ... there's plenty of those that I have read. My local dealer charges $250 for the BRP brand oil change, which I see is a lot lower than some dealers. I think that works out to about $150 for the BRP kit, and $100 labor. I'm...

Why doesn't BRP design a stronger Anti-roll bar?

To answer the thread title only: I'm pretty sure that Ron has a group of active lobbyists that wine and dine and take BRP engineers on expensive vacations quarterly to have them not do this, so that 3rd party solutions are necessary! :yikes: :joke: j/k j/k j/k

What's the Accuracy of the Speedometer?

So does my General Altimax 225/60 (But I wish I had gone with a 215 for a little more belt clearance.)

Ran up to BajaRons place yesterday - can't say enough about how great they are!

I'm very curious if you notice a difference between City and Sport mode. I notice a huge difference between all the other modes, but if there's a difference between city and sport mode, it is very subtle on my 2019 RTL 1330. Even "Off" to "City" is quite noticeable. City+2 to Sport+ -2 is...
