• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HELP! I threaded the transmission hex bolt! Will JB Weld help get it out?? What else might work?

First, I understand your pain. And the external hex head replacements are a good solution. But I have to say that done correctly, the OEM drain plugs work just fine. I'm still using my original drain plugs on my 2008 Premier Edition 998 GS. Just saying that it can be done. The key is to gently...

My '21 S2S rattles quite badly for a few seconds after ~5 months layup start - any way to spin the motor without starting?

Well then, my first reply would not apply. It may well be your cam chain tensioner. It is always good not to rev an engine at startup. Letting it idle for 30 seconds or so allows oil to reach all locations before stressing the engine. (Fixed) The 998 V-Twin Spyder does not have hydraulic...

My '21 S2S rattles quite badly for a few seconds after ~5 months layup start - any way to spin the motor without starting?

Amsoil claims that their product stays on parts much longer than most other oils. We have found this to be true. Not saying it would cure your problem. But it would be interesting to try it and see. Mikey has a good question. If you are using the BRP blended oil. It shears down to 20w at about...

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

I'm wondering if the RT has more room than the F3. Something to look into.

Has anyone else noticed excessive Right side front tire wear?

You may get some uneven tire wear from highly crowned roads. But it should never be this severe. What does the other tire look like? A good alignment should resolve this. For that to be a Toe Out condition, it would have to be the left wheel. If it is the Right Wheel, as described, that would...

My 2011 RSS is Running Rich, but I can't open the older threads on this!? Any ideas?

We use a sonic cleaner on fuel injectors. We also bench test them afterwards. On rare occasions, we have to run one through the cleaning cycle again. They may click open and closed, but they are not making a fine, even, spray. Sometimes they are just bad and have to be replaced. I'm not saying...

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

Interesting. We installed this same tire on an F3 Spyder and it rubbed the swingarm. Had to remove it and install a 215/60R15.

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

Understood, Vredestein does not make a tire in that size.

Weird Spyder Behavior this afternoon - sudden power loss & 'bucking'! Any ideas?

Though not convinced this is a battery issue (not ruling it out either, mind you). I'm not too impressed with this battery test. What is voltage under load? That's what you want to see.

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

The 205/65R15 is slightly taller and about 1/2" narrower than the 215/60R15

BajaRon Ultra swaybar and BajaRon front shocks coming in this afternoon - any suggestions for initial settings?

All of that sounds good. But what we have found is that there are so many variables, not the least of which are the rider's expectations and sense of what an ideal ride means to them. In short, you are the best option for stetting shock parameters that fit your riding style. We've done all we...

BajaRon Ultra swaybar and BajaRon front shocks coming in this afternoon - any suggestions for initial settings?

The dampening adjustment is BajaRon/JRi specific. But ride height and spring preload instructions are pretty universal.

What Rear Tire Size is needed to correct the speedo?

A 215/60R15 will get you pretty close. Tire sizes are not universal. They can vary from brand to brand and even from model to model within the same brand. But this size will do the job.

My 2011 RSS is Running Rich, but I can't open the older threads on this!? Any ideas?

Not sure about the web URL. The Honda gasket is a good idea. But it isn't going to fix your over rich air fuel mixture. You may have a fuel injector hanging open. You may be able to pull spark plugs and find out which cylinder it is. It might be both!

Leak comes and goes? Shop did not find it. Help???

A little amazed that they were not able to find the leak. There is a system that we use which lights up antifreeze and makes it much easier to trace the source. Most shops have these. The first place I would start would be check all hose connections. Especially if you find one that has a screw...

BRP side boxes locked, no key, any ideas?

Shot in the dark and may not work. But if you provide VIN maybe BRP has a record.

    Blue Light Special Anyone?

Sweet! I've never been able to ride very far with blue lights in the mirror. It's fine when they pass me by. Not so good when they don't.

Do you change the way you ride with a trailer attached? For safety??

I may slow down some for sharp turns, especially when I don't know the road. A loaded trailer will push some when hard braking so it's good to be aware of that. But mainly, I remember one of the first things I learned in driving school with the fire service. And that was 'Always drive the whole...
