• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oil leak at 100 miles! New 2024 S2S

Is this a Major Electrical Short??? Any suggestions?

I haven't seen the rodent issue mentioned. Not that this IS your problem. But rats can created the kind of chaos that you're describing.

    Girls on Spyders

My guess is that they prefer the Facebook format. To me, it's just a lot of disconnected chatter. But it seems to be the way things are headed.

Tire search - what is everyone going to these days?

We carry both the Kenda Kanine and the Vredestein for front tires. They are not hard to find. But don't tell them what you are going to mount them to...

My search for the perfect oil funnel? What's yours?

It actually works well for pretty much everything. We like it because it sits down into the filler hole so you don't have to hold it or worry about it coming out. Though some of the others will do that as well. It won't rotate or move unexpectedly, It also gets you out away from everything so if...

    I got another New Helmet!

The rule of thumb, as Racoon states, is 5 years. But there are a great many 'If's' in this figure. * Quality of the helmet - An Arai, Shoei, etc., will last you a lot longer than some lesser models. * How much the helmet is worn in 5 years. * A well-made helmet does not begin to deteriorate...

Educate me on the reliability of the Rykers

The reason your Ryker sounded like you were 'pushing it to its limit' is because it has a CVT (Transmission). This design keeps the motor at optimum RPM within the power curve. This makes a smaller engine perform like a much bigger one. I've not ridden the 600 cc version. But our 900, while not...

    Why Is Overfilling Oil “Bad”?

True of a wet sump system, but not going to happen with a dry sump system. The problem with the Spyder, especially the 998 motor, is that the crank case vent system is poorly designed. Even filled properly, you will get too much oil vapor into the airbox. If overfilled, you can get a good amount...

Fitted EBC Rotors and Pads, now it has a pulsing feeling when slowing down under a light pedal!

We used to have this issue before EBC started beveling the center hole on the rotors. With the original straight cut opening there was an interface conflict which would warp the rotors when torqued to the hub. But that issue has been solved. Still, if this persists, I would check to see that...

New Kenda Kanine Rear Tire for 2013 RT-S

We carry the Kumho because it is one of the better car tires that come in OEM size. But it is not a great tire. Though it has nothing to do with the shoulder design. Unless you are running a very low tire pressure, the rounded shoulders on the Kenda are not making any difference. It's the...

Love to have a picture of your 'Trim' job!

How long will the drive belt last?

Just inspect it every so often. Pretty much the life of the vehicle if you garage it, the tension is set correctly, and it doesn't suck up a rock along the way. Actually, even the tension isn't all that critical for the belt. It can take a lot more than the wheel and front sprocket shaft...

Damage to belt - any advice on changing it out?

You can run it and keep an eye on it. But I recommend that you rotate the damage to the bottom between the spockets and trim the torn part off just beyond the attachment point. This will help prevent further deterioration. If you leave the flapping portion, it will get worse and could even catch...

Jay Leno has #1. Mine is 836. They ran the yellow version first. Mine is a Moon Glow Silver, I think they call it.

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

I'd hate for you to dump an otherwise good machine for this oil leak. I'm looking forward to seeing your Ryker. I am hoping we can come up with a solution. We just need for you to call and make an appointment so we can get to it as soon as you pull in. I just looked at your pictures and...

Didn't we all... It's human nature to think those who are special to us will last forever. Even when we know it isn't true. Enjoy them while you can. Then be thankful for the time we had.
