• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Getting Elka shocks installed - when should I get an alignment?

Install the shocks and adjust them (spring preload) to you liking before getting an alignment. A swaybar install won't affect alignment. But shocks certainly can.

2015 RT SE6 wants to keep going when stopped in gear, forward or reverse - any ideas? Anyone else?

While Woodaddict is correct that the SE will roll in gear at idle. It should not be pulling, which is what I am getting from your post. If I'm wrong about this then disregard. If the idle is too high the clutch may be trying to engage. The steel pates in the clutch can warp if they get too hot...

Struggling to find anyone in Indiana to Service a 2009 Spyder V-Twin - any thoughts?

It may depend on what you need done. I would think they could still do general maintenance like oil changes, tire changes, etc., as these are fairly universal processes. The next step is to do the job yourself. Which can not only be rewarding, but save a good deal of money. Still, I know many...

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

Understood. But my point was not so much the model, but the concept that they all have potential for problems. Granted, some more than others. Not picking on Triumph. I've wanted a Rocket ever since they came out. But I'm sure if I researched that model, I'd find that it has issues as well.

Spyder shopping - 998 vs 1330, is the 1330 that much better?

As 2dogs says, you'll get a lot of opinions. There are, of course, a good number of advantages and disadvantages to each option. The 998 is a great motor, and if ridden as designed, will keep up with the 1330 no problem. Without going into a great deal of tedious text. My simple advice is, if...

My Ryker 900 always leaks at the oil filter cap - what's going on?

My Google search brought this information... Triumph Speed Triple models, particularly the older 1050 and newer 1200 RS, have been reported to have a variety of issues, including brake problems, gearbox issues, and electrical problems. Some owners have also reported issues with oil leaks, low...

Just added Ron's Ultimate Sway Bar - amazing difference!

Now there is an SL designation I could get behind! I'm just jealous that I didn't think of it! ;)

Just added Ron's Ultimate Sway Bar - amazing difference!

Other than the fact that there is no Vredestein Quatrac SL (They are just Vredestein ⁰Quatrac), it's not a big deal. Tires have several parameters that they pigeon hole into, as you can see below. SL load range stands for 'Standard Load'. All Vredestein Quatrac tires fall into this category...

Bought some sway bar links from Ali Express - don't fit. Any UK Owners know a good supplier?

You have to be careful with AliExpress. People are purchasing product from them for a number of Spyder/Ryker items that don't fit, don't work, or are of such poor quality that they aren't worth installing. They look good in the pictures, but it's not always a great idea. And their return/refund...

2016 RTS Right front tire wobble/shakes - any thoughts?

You are sure your tires are round and balanced. No cupping.

Front Tires wearing on the inside - aligned TWICE! What's next?

Done right, laser alignment is awesome. Just keep an eye on your tires. Catching improper wear early can save you a set.

Just wanted to share the unbridled joy and ease of riding the Spyder!

This is the message that needs to get out. 3 wheels has always been the anathema to riders which needed to be avoided until the last possible moment. I might have been one of those. And, to be frank, I still feel that way about a conventional trike (no disrespect intended, just an opinion). But...

Sounds like good news is in the pipeline. That's great!

Has anyone ever opened a Paypal dispute?

I totally agree that you have a valid grievance. And Paypal or your debit card may well cover you for this. Being International adds another layer of difficulty for recovery. And even adding the credit card angle is no guarantee. I got taken recently by AliExpress because I was careless. I'm...

Has anyone ever opened a Paypal dispute?

Unfortunately, debit cards are typically not nearly as good at protecting you as are credit cards. Paypal with a credit card is the safest way to go. I wish you the best of luck. But sometimes education can be expensive. We've all learned the hard way on occasion.

Has anyone ever opened a Paypal dispute?

Anytime you use Paypal or a similar payment format, it is very important to use a credit card for a 2nd layer of protection. It's best to go through Paypal first. But if that fails, your credit card is usually a more reliable and responsive route to go.

This Helmsman fell asleep at the helm!

I've owned and piloted sailboats and motorboats. But even these don't turn on a dime or stop quickly. For a good time, just go to any busy boat launch and watch the utter destruction. Not that I want people to wreck their boats, tow vehicles, trailers, etc. But if they are going to do it anyway...

    Stupid is as stupid does!

It would be nice to know more about the situation. Was this before the mock event? They might have been testing their weapons to be sure they worked. Still, that should have been done elsewhere. Not with a bunch of civilians all around. Military get used to weapons and they knew they were...

Spyder RT 2011 Burning my Right Leg - Any fixes?

Remove the splash panels from the bottom of the bike. The problem is, there is nowhere for the heat to go. Removing these panels lets hot air flow naturally out the bottom of the engine compartment. Which should take a load off your leg. CopperSpyder's suggestion may also be needed. But you can...

Did the dealership install the wrong oil filter?

That is good news! And actually, if I'd been thinking (Which I try to avoid these days). I would have realized that there was no danger of you installing that wrong filter. Because you CAN'T install the filter you have as the 1330 requires a filter open at both ends! Have a Great Memorial...
