• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Learning about my RT bit by bit

Your owner's manual should give a removal sequence and may explain about the sliding panel.

Downshifting techniques, I need your advice on best technique?

I find my Spyder shifts the smoothest if I just shift and leave the throttle steady going either up or down. I do downshift myself to use engine braking.

Most amount of miles/KM you have ridden in one day on the Spyder

It is exciting to see the miles racked up by our Spyder riders. The other thing I like about this thread is that we are getting some people post who don't post very often. It is fun to see some new faces. Keep riding and posting. PS John, looking forward to reading another story or 2 of your...

Button, button, who's got the button? Lost the Turn Signal Button!

Hi Tom Welcome to Spyderlovers and the world of Spyders. I was like you in 2015 coming from 50 years on 2 wheels. I was excited to find out how easily the Spyder could eat up the miles. Rode over 700 miles in one day that 1st summer and wasn't beat to death. I am sure the member who made those...

998cc How hard is it to change the Shift Shaft Rod?

Please let us know how it goes. Good luck. If you can get up from a bad accident and ride again, you can do this and make it work.:yes:

Most amount of miles/KM you have ridden in one day on the Spyder

Spring City to Sturges in one day 723 miles on my 2012 RTL. That was back in 2015 for the 75th anniversary of the Rally. I couldn't do that today, but the Spyder probably could. I was amazed at how much easier it was to eat up the miles on that Spyder. And I still had time and energy to set up a...

998cc How hard is it to change the Shift Shaft Rod?

It can be done without removing the engine or splitting the cases. Remove the clutch cover, remove the clutch, slide the old shift shaft out, and slide the new shaft back in, make sure the shift is indexing correctly. Take lots of pictures before disassembly, especially how the indexer...

Almost had the big one yesterday - pallet fell of a truck into our path!

Man, you were blessed on that ride, especially with Granddaughter along. I am so glad to hear you are both safe.

Downshifting techniques, I need your advice on best technique?

Keep your throttle hand steady, do not try to speed match like on a regular 2-wheel clutch/gearbox system. the Computer will do all the throttle/gear matching for you with very little fuss. Even my old 2012 is fairly fuss free.

I must have got a good Kenda rear tire!

That certainly is amazing. My factory original Kenda was mostly gone by 8300 miles and totally gone by 10,000

Anyone else going to the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally this year?

I have been to 4 of them and enjoyed every one. Conflicts this year be so I won't be there. Hopefully next year. Enjoy yourself all who are going.

Any reason NOT to buy a 2012 RT Limited?

I have that exact model and color of Spyder. It has 79,000+ miles on it and is still going strong. I like that you can still grease the 'A' Arm bushings and service is relatively easy. It does have the smaller 14" front wheels and only a 5 speed. You will need to learn to leave it in gear...

Is this the 2024 Cluster Software Developer? Should we contact them?

Instead of speculating on what Enovations will or won't do, contact them and find out. It costs nothing. If there are major problems with the console itself not working, how is their contract fulfilled?

Do new brake pads work weakly at first?

No go out and run them hard in a no traffic area and stomp on them hard several times until you can smell your brakes pads being hot, then drive around a little until cool. Do not stop completely or the hot pad resting in one place may warp a rotor.
