• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Issues changing down

...and the solution is.......... OK, thanks again to all for the input. I now know what happened, I slightly overtightened the bolt that holds the floorboard on the LHS; it goes through the gear change lever and wasn't letting the lever return after changing. I did check that it all worked OK...

    Issues changing down

Game over! OK, looks like this thread can finish now with me eating humble pie. I've just heard from the dealer service manager who says that the issue is with the heel/toe gear lever which is part of the floorboard installation on manual Spyders. I'm not sure exactly what the issue is but I'll...

    Issues changing down

Answers No, this didn't occur before the floorboards were fitted but neither did it occur after they were fitted - until about 300km into the first long ride. The only ride before that was a short one back from the dealer after picking it up. I tested it after I fitted the floorboards and it...

    Issues changing down

Should have said, it's a manual. Oil level is fine. The more I think about this, the more I lean towards my own work in fitting the floorboards. If I have overtightened the bolt on the LHS it may not be allowing the shift lever to spring back after shifting (but I did check this after the...

    Issues changing down

No, I don't think I'm shifting down too quickly, it just gets down to a certain gear and refuses to go down any further and it could be any gear where the refusal happens. I sometimes get an "E" when going from 1st to reverse or vice versa but I put that down to the RT being new and perhaps the...

    Issues changing down

My new RT started giving me problems at about 300km into its first decent ride. Pulled off the highway for a break and went to change down as I entered the service station, went down to 5th gear but refused to go any further. If I insisted it would give me an "E" where the gear indicator is on...

What did you do on or to your Spyder today..........

From Australia Well, the new Timeless Black '14 RT SM6 (I call it "Funnelweb" after a deadly black spider that lives in these parts :ani29: :yikes:) now sports a pair of Rivco floorboards complete with heel/toe shifter PLUS the BRP backrest (which, at $583 Australian is outrageous) but I can't...

    "E" shift sensor error

My SM6is giving a short E message when going into reverse and out of reverse. I think this is due to the actuator being a bit slow moving across, but it could be the gear position indicator in the early stages of dying. On my 2011 RT the GPS had to be replaced when it kept showing 1st>neutral...

    Windshield Arm Broken

Looking for a windshield actuator unit. Does anyone in the USA know where I may be able to source a used windshield actuator module. My 2011 RT broke its arm and I replaced it with a stronger one made here in Australia but the mechanism itself seems to be damaged - a couple of broken teeth and...

    Shocks vs. Swaybar...

I can only speak for the sway bars available here in Australia (PM me if you want contact details) and they make an incredible difference. As far as shocks go, save your pennies and buy the Elkas; they have transformed the Spyder both from a ride comfort and handling perspective. Yes, they both...

2011 RT SM5 gearshift lever has dropped

Just in case some one has a similar problem, there is an adjustable link rod inboard from the shifter. The locking nuts had come loose, allowing the shifter to get right out of adjustment. Our local mechanical wiz fixed it at the Shed Day today. Fix was simple: re-adjust the link rod and tighten...

2011 RT SM5 gearshift lever has dropped

My shift lever seems to have dropped about 1.5", far enough so that I've had to remove my Inspector Gadget floorboards and replace the pegs so that I can operate the lever. Does anyone know how to remove the shift lever and can it be adjusted back to where I want it? I have a heel/toe...

    Contacting ISCI

ISCI only give phone numbers as contacts but being in Australia, the time zones don't work out for phone contact. Can anyone please give me an email address or perhaps a name to PM on the forum? I would greatly appreciate some help here as they appear to be the only people who make rider...

Spyder Elka direct black Friday special

No answer I sent a PM about this two weeks ago but disappointingly, no reply. Even if the deal had expired or there was another reason, a reply would have been courteous and appreciated. Update: I thought that the OP represented Elka but apparently this is not the case. Apologies to Elka who...
