• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RIP to Country Music Star Charley Pride

Off Topic... Thank you for yours! My Father also served in Korea. He was a gunner in a Sherman tank. Claims that's why he can't hear now. I had the honor of being his guardian on an Honor Flight to DC a few years back. He had so much fun sharing stories with the other elderly veterans on that...

    self cancelling turn signals

If you push in on the centered turn signal switch (not moving it left or right) it will cancel the turn signal. As has been said, a sharper turn will auto cancel the turn signal, but a sweeping turn will not. The above method is also useful when changing lanes as you don't want to look like the...

    Pickup tire pressure

On my Jeep I used the chalk method. The OEM tires on my Rubicon were basically 33x10.5 tyres and I went up to 34x11.5 for better off roading traction and clearance. Obviously a larger tyre will have different optimal pressure requirements. With the chalk method, take a piece of white (or any...

Starting and running the Spyder all winter

Actually, I was just being snarky...like what's the best oil, best pick-up truck brand, etc...Having said that, the best handgun caliber for self defense in my most humble opinion is that which the individual shooter can best handle and shoot accurately. I prefer .45ACP (I also have a GLOCK G38...

Tyre Question - Different Topic... advantages using different tires front vs rear?

And this is where I am at this point. I'm (we're) not spirited ryders, but ryding 2 up (we're not overweight, but let's just say we don't skinny dip anymore, we chunky dunk) the front Kenda's don't seem to grip as much as I'd like within my "safe zone". Hence the reason I was researching...

Tyre Question - Different Topic... advantages using different tires front vs rear?

Okay, now I understand what you're saying, I have experienced this with my Wrangler. It has a nanny that among other things tries to prevent the top and the wheels from switching position. There's a stretch of highway locally that is curved in combination with the road settling wrong causing the...

Tyre Question - Different Topic... advantages using different tires front vs rear?

Thanks for the reply Peter, you certainly covered all the bases! Bottom line, for the majority of ryders, there is no real advantage/disadvantage and it becomes a function of likes, desires, and availability. Thanks again. Mike, I'm not sure I follow what you're saying here. Now I don't ryde...

Tyre Question - Different Topic... advantages using different tires front vs rear?

I'm not satisfied with the front end handling of my Spyder with the OEM Kenda's (surprise!), especially ryding 2-up. It feels like I'm slyding in sharper turns. So, I'm researching new tyres for the front (leaning toward the Hankook's but no firm decision yet). Anyway, while reading a bunch of...

    Freedom Pass for veterans.

Decades ago, DW and I were heading out to Lake Mead. When I approached the "Fee Shack", the lady noticed I had a base sticker on my windshield (don't know if the AF still uses them) and she asked me if I was military. I told her I was retired Air Force. She asked me if I get any kind of...

Transporting 2 Spyder RT's in a Toy Hauler - what brand hauler?

Another Grand Design owner here. I don't put 2 Spyders in my Momentum 381, but I do put the Spyder and a 2-up quad and they both fit. Thing is, as long as the 5'er you get has a large enough garage, they both will fit. I'm partial to the Grand Design Momentum line but other manufacturers make...

2014 RSS-SE5 Save me from myself-- check engine light

Sounds like you've narrowed the issue down to the rear injector. I'm speculating that the ECM detected a lean condition and metered more fuel. The front injector responded which is why it's running rich, but the rear did not respond and is still lean. Again, you might try running some Seafoam...

2014 RSS-SE5 Save me from myself-- check engine light

Just going by my automotive experience here, so this will be more generic than Spyder specific. Judging from the code and your symptoms it sounds like you have an excessively lean condition. The simple things that contribute to this is too much air or too little fuel. Too much air comes from bad...

    Epic Spyder Fails

Having worked fleet maintenance for the last 45 years, I can relate. Not on a Spyder, but have you ever filled the crankcase with the proper amount of oil and nothing shows on the dipstick only to discover you forgot to put the drain plug in? That also makes a huge mess. Ask me how I know... John
