• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2008 se5 Spyder electrical problems

Sorry for the rant. Being blown off by the service department is not acceptable. Being blown off by the owner is even worse. I'll check to see if there is something the tech could screwed up when the fog lamps were installed. It would be very hard to screw up the 12V plug install. It is prewired...

    2008 se5 Spyder electrical problems

Dealers are out to charge outrageous money to send technicians to schools buy thousands of dollars for required tools to service the units. Tie up hundreds of dollars in parts and accssories. The style of accessories will go out of style every year so therefore accessories will be discounted at...

    SE5 not shifting

I think the oil cooler is mounted in rubber isolators (not a good ground). Vehicles electronic control components are being made to function at the milli volt level. Electronic noise from a component like the coil function at the k volt level. This is a big descrepency. The need for good clean...

    SE5 not shifting

Here are some pics. First pic shows the ground wires at the coil pack, and the wire to the oil cooler mount. Remember to clear the paint off of the oil tank for a good ground. Second pic shows the chassis ground. There are 3 wires to it and there is also a star ground washer. It is at the...

    SE5 not shifting

Talked to tech support and SE5s will be covered under warranty. SM5s will be on a case by case basis. Now not all dealers treat the spyder as a priority. With that being said, IF the dealer doesn't know about it, it has been posted under the 05/07/09 whats news section of BOSSWEB. FYI BOSSWEBB...

    Secret Rotex ?

We had a Sea doo engine that failed (within the first hour of use) and were instructed NOT to open it up. If we did they wouldn't pay the claim. A $5k engine . When questioned we were told they do it for quality control. If the shop opens it up then evidence as to the cause of the...

    Question for do-it-yourself oil changers . . .

We never pop drain plugs. We suck the oil out through the dip stick hole. Stripped plugs cost time and money.

    Secret Rotex ?

Rotax will request a engine be left intact. They do it to because they know what shift the engine was built. Who was working on the line or If they have a parts problem or a procedure issue. It all has to do with quality!

Have you done a complete oil change?

It is recommended to clean the oil tank strainer at the 600 mi service and the next time at the 12k service. Drain the oil tank. The strainer is screwed into the lower portion of the oil tank facing rearward. Remove the Oetiker clamp (it's the one shot clamp)that will have to be replaced. DON'T...

My 600 Mile Service Results – Your opinion?

Every dealership has to have a tech take a series of tests to have the spyder dealership. BRP usually gives the dealership a year to get the tests done. Next time you go in for service make sure and ask to have your Spyder worked on by the tech who has taken the tests.
