• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RT 2013 Top Side Panel Removal

I think it is supposed to be bent. Sadly I pushed the straight grommet out and had to take the whole side panel off to fish it out. On the other hand, I no longer fear removing the tupperware. Once it went in the rest is easy. I am still not sure how the mirror actually attaches, but it clicks...

RT 2013 Top Side Panel Removal

Yeah I saw that. All worked ok but I can't get the bottom grommets to go in. One of the gromment posts is bent but it sure looks like it should be. Tough to get it back on and still fighting it.

RT 2013 Top Side Panel Removal

I am trying to wire a 12V jack in my speaker grille (so far, so good -- the jack is mounted). I am trying to take off the top side panel to snake the wiring. Here's the problem. The owner's manual says: 1. Open seat 2. Open frunk 3. Remove Side Panel. 4. Remove lower wind deflector screws 5...

    RT-S 2013 Dash Backlight

    RT-S 2013 Dash Backlight

Probably a dumb question. I just noticed that on my analog dials the MPH is backlight but the RPM is not. t. Not the whole dial but the text that says MPH and RPM. Is that normal or do i have an LED disconnected or burned out. I only recently noticed so don't know if it is recent from service...

    Spyder Sightings

I was in Galveston today on my 2013 red RT. Saw a blue Spyder on the beach road and then as I was about to turn onto 45N a red Spyder overtook in the right lane and went the other way. This is the first time I've seen a Spyder on the road while I was on mine. Not sure the other red bike saw me...

    I Just Couldn't Help It!

I like to say. "Umm... what year is this?" Then when they say 2013 I say, "Sh**!" and drive off as fast as I can.

    Spyder Sightings

Saw a red RT (just like mine) at Red River BBQ in League City yesterday while I was putting gas in the cage. I wanted to go over and find the owner, but a) I was late, and b) going in and saying "Who has the Spyder out in the parking lot?" might have given him a heart attack thinking I'd hit it.

    Leaning Right

They swear up and down it was the shock. It does seem like the service invoice mentioned a cap spring or something, but I may be wrong. I'll have to check later.

Easy Trunk Light for RT (maybe others)

Another advantage is you can remove it and use it as a trouble light or flash light if you need it. The only downside is you can't get to the hook for hanging the light under the Velcro without peeling it off.

Easy Trunk Light for RT (maybe others)

Not exactly rocket science. I started with this: http://www.harborfreight.com/27-led-portable-worklight-flashlight-67227.html You can't beat these for the $3 they are usually on sale for. Bright! The only downside is they have 2 positions, but at least it turns off after each one. So the...

    Leaning Right

Yeah I'm familiar with both of them although both are over an hour one way from me (in Galveston County). I think there is a dealer in Baytown too -- at least they sell Sea Doo I think. That isn't that close either, but isn't as far as Pro or WW.

    Leaning Right

Woot! Got it back this afternoon. Rides better. For one, the low idle seems smoother. They did the stabilizer bar recall and that seems to be much better on curves. Or maybe it is because they fixed the lean. The resolution was to pull a shock off a unit in a crate and replace it. They said the...

    Leaning Right

Well a week out of town and dealer STILL has the Spyder :-( They "think" I might get it back today (yesterday was 2 weeks). I am trying not to tick them off since there aren't really any other convenient dealerships unless you count the branch south which is the same company. At this point the...

    Leaning Right

Took the new 2013 RT-S in for first service. When we got there my wife who had followed me said the bike was leaning. I didn't think much of it nor did the dealer. But on examination they say it is leaning. They can't figure why but factory wants them to swap a shock. Anyone see this before?

    Iphone Mount - RS

If you have a ball mount with the 4 holes, this works: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?56281-Simple-40-X-Phone-Mount-for-RT-with-SE5 Even if you don't, you might be able to adapt the idea.

Simple $40 X Phone Mount for RT with SE5

I bought some longer zip ties and did this again. I don't think it was quite as tight -- perhaps having two locking ears helps. I also tried putting the longer ties in an X pattern. Better, but still not as good as I think the first attempt with 2 ties was. If you still have some wiggle it...

Significant progress on talking to CAN Bus on Spyder

Nice work. Where are you tapping the bus? If you go with option D I might be able to help there as I have a fair amount of experience in that area. What I would like is enough info to put my gauges out on WiFi, velcro an old Android phone to my dash and let it mirror image the data to reflect...
