• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Loving this weather!

Can't believe it is March in Michigan and I've been riding four of the past six days and tomorrow is looking promising as well. A buddy posted on Facebook on Saturday that he had made his first ride of the season. My response..."slacker, I've been riding for the past four days." Now, I'm just...

    Other Bikers

Harley Snobs Unfortunately, we too have encountered some "Harley snobs". Mostly, they berate us because our bikes aren't "American-made". Hubby rides a Honda, which they call a rice burner. BUT, we've both encountered many broken down Harleys on our rides and we always stop to see if we can...

    Owners Poll: RT or RS?

An RS for me, now ...but hubby rides a Honda. When we are to the point that we will share one ride, it will most likely be an RT; then we can take turns driving! (Providing he doesn't mind riding B*^%H)!:)

How long before you got your license and drove???

Less than 30 days I rode motorcycles in high school (a long time ago). Intended to get licensed for a two-wheeler and took a motorcycle safety course, discovered I wasn't as competent with a two-wheeler as I used to be. So decided to get a Spyder. Took the written test at the DMV, got a...

Condition of US 27 Michigan to Florida

I'm trying to talk hubby into riding (I have a Spyder, he has a Honda) from Michigan to Florida via US 27. Our only concern is that here in Michigan (especially to the north) US 27 isn't very well maintained and the Michigan winters have been very hard on it. Has anyone traveled this route (or...

Spyderlady Linda Had A Spill Today

Glad you are okay ...and thanks for sharing this with us. We don't ride in the rain if we can possibly help it because hubby rides a two-wheeler, but we hadn't thought water would affect spydee in that way. This is good to know.

    6000 mile checkup

Thanks everyone; yes the 3,000 mile maintenance was done. I had planned to ride it over to the dealer (about an hour away), but it doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate, so may just trailer it over so if the want to check the valves, okay by me, since I do have a service agreement.

    6000 mile checkup

My 2008 RS is going to the dealer on Friday for its 6,000 mile check up -- I bought it used two years ago, when it had only 1,200 miles on it and purchased three year warranty/service program. Dealer said they may need it for 4 hours to do this check up. Other than an oil change, what else...

    Black Widow Accessories

Ouch! Pierre: Did you really need to jump into my S*&^ because I asked a valid question? At the time of my original post, I did think they had charged my card; when I discovered they hadn't, I corrected that on this forum. That being said, it was not my intention to trash the company, I was...

    Black Widow Accessories

Update I was mistaken; my credit card has not been charged. However, hubby called them again today, got their answering machine (again) and left a message that we still didn't have the items; would they please return the call and provide a UPS tracking number or MAYBE we should just cancel the...

    Black Widow Accessories

Any one else have a problem getting product from Black Widow Accessories? I ordered a piece of luggage from them; they said they mailed it two weeks and charged my credit card. When it didn't arrive at my home in Michigan (from Ohio) within a week, it took me two calls to get someone to call...

Can Am Bar 1" Bar Riser

Custom dynamic 4 inch risers I am vertically challenged and when I got my 2008 RS, a rode leaning forward, which made my arms hurt when riding very far. We ordered the 4" risers from Custom Dynamics. They were fairly easy for my husband and I to install, and they don't look too bad either. You...

I have a 2008 RS. I'm looking for a couple of things and could use some help in getting good products. I would like to add some additional lighting - especially in the back. Can anyone suggest a good product that is fairly easy to install? (My hubby and I did install the Custom Dynamics 4"...

    Riding from Georgia Into Florida

Thanks for the advice -- actually am looking for someplace secure, south of Atlanta -- on or near I-75. As far as route from there into Florida, we prefer anything other than expressway -- old US 27 is suitable, if the road is still in decent shape (it's really bad in parts of Michigan due to...

    Riding from Georgia Into Florida

Thanks for the advice, johnnyg; actually we explored that ride, but were trying to reduce the mileage somewhat. Going to Nashville takes us pretty far west, but I agree that seems like the most scenic route and we may just end up doing that, since we have a friend near Nashville that will...

    Did You or Didn't You?

Not my first, and not my last Had my first motorcycle in high school -- a 90 cc. Didn't ride again until two years ago (35 years out of high school), when I was looking at retirement and the bug to ride bite me again. So, I bought my husband a slightly used Honda VTX 1300R. Riding on the...
