• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Owner here. A few ??

The baseball card sound could be the broken belt guard catching on the belt notches. best way to check is to take the belt guard off the Spyder and see if that noise goes away. Cheers

    Pictures of Rear End Damage

Write off or Fix Hey Danny, sorry I missed you at the ulysses AGM. I hope they write it off so you can get a new 2011. with the amount of damage that can be seen in the pics, and with enough force to burst the rear tyre, you would have to think the frame could no longer be as was. Good luck...

    Headlights flashing???

Flashing Lights All of you that have been told that your lights appear to flash, should check your rear shocker rebound damping. I have had 6 replacement shocks since November 2010, and every time that the shock damping failed the lights would appear to flash because the rear of the bike was...

Front Trunk switch You don't say in your post if you tried it with the engine running. The switch only works with the engine running, so give it a try.

    First impressions of Elka

Maybe you should check the rear shock, I would almost bet money that it is the back bouncing and not the front. Once again, step on the running board, hold the passenger grip and bounce the bike. If the bounce clunks at the top of its travel, the rear shock is shot and needs replacing.

    First impressions of Elka

I have just had my 5th rear shock fitted and BRP (Australia) say that there is no problem because only three bikes have had the relpaced here. I do believe that there are many rider out there that do not know that their rear shock has lost it's rebound damping because of the affect of the...

    Vibration

The Rods are isolated because one end is bolted to the Frame, the other end is bolted to the engine and the isolation is the rubber mount between the Frame and the engine.

    Vibration

Check out the Schematic and you will see the dark blue rubber engine mount and you will also notice that the two purple rods are fastened to the turquoise engine bracket on one end and the grey bike frame on the other. It is the nut (#52)on the bolt that hold the short rod to the turquoise...

    Vibration

I, once again refer you back to post #11 by Lamonster, in this thread. If you look at the dark blue section below the rods you will see it is a rubber mount. If there was no rubber mount, then the rods would be serving no purpose. I would worry about your tech, considering he was working in...

    Vibration

It will most likely be the bolt or nut that holds the bar to the engine mount, touching the frame bracket support web. (see nut #52 on the exploded view in Lamonsters post #11 in this thread)

    Vibration

No unfortunately, I didn't think about i until I had finished the job and by that time it is almost impossible to get a good look at the area, let alone take a pic. Sorry :dontknow:

    Vibration

Fixed it I have been feeling this vibration for 12000 K's and thought that it was a Characteristic of the Rotax. When I read this thread I decided to have a look. The nut(#52 in Lamonsters post #11) was hard up against the frame support web that can be seen just under the words "Engine...

    Finally found replacement Gauges

Waterproof or not? Hi, Sorry about the delay in replying, but I have been on a 1500 mile trip for the last 8 days. The gauges that I have do not have any information on the packaging about if they are waterproof or not. However, On the road trip I have just completed it rained on 6 of the 8...

    Rear Shock

The Service manager is obviously not familiar with the rear shock. There is nothing "Hooked up" to the shock Absorber, it is a simple Spring Over shock that you will find on any bike, (a cheap one at that), and it is completly seperate from the Airbag system. Your shock is toast. Bob
