• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    performance heads & cams?

It could be that they are not producing them anymore and they are just selling what they have left on the shelf? Last time I spoke to Ken about those pistons, there were only a few sets sold.

    Exhaust Pipe Extensions

This would be considered a torque tube. Its the same principle in pipes for 2 strokes, race cars, etc... you extend the exhaust, you in effect are changing its backpressure, pulse, etc.. More backpressure tends to make your AFR richer... if you have mechanically increased your AFR by...

    Juice Box settings

AEM makes a fairly cheap wideband O2 sensor/gauge that I would suggest for tuning. You can have an exhaust shop put the bung in the pipe before the muffler.. or if you've got Evoluziones O2 eliminator.. just put the O2 there. But at least you'll be tuning for your parts, your spyder, your...

Which tires rear tire is best?

Uh, there are tons of tires that are 225/50/15, just look at Tire Rack, etc.. I personally switched to a MT 3751R Drag Radial. It wont be the longest lasting tire... but it will give me the traction I need with its soft thread compound. Plus since I have wheel adapters for the 18" car wheels...

    Stock muffler mods

Someone had a cutaway pic of the stock muffler out there on the internets... It may have been on a different forum, but if I remember correctly you cant exactly "gut" the converter on the Spyder... it'd take some serious surgery to get at the catalytic guts.. not worth your time or effort for...

    Oil Change - Parts

One thing you can do is buy the official Spyder service manual... its got alot of good info! You can pretty much figure out how to do just about anything. I mean, thats pretty much all the mechanic is doing on your Spyder... hes looking at the service manual...

    Oil Change - Parts

Also, do NOT buy the drainplug washer... waste of money. Get a rubber impregnated steel washer from Autozone, no more leaks!

    Oil Leaks-anyone else/

If its leaking from the drainplug in the oil tank, I found that you need the throw away the copper bushing and get a rubber impregnated steel washer from Autozone. ZERO leaks after that on mine.

Aerocharger FAQ posted and kit schematic

That is a good question that will be finalized once the production parts are dyno'd and the final tune is complete. On the "pre-production" parts I was seeing 6PSI, but the final production parts could vary a little. I believe the final tuning/boost setting will be dictated by 91 Octane. If...

Aerocharger FAQ posted and kit schematic

You can see this on Aerochargers site, but I thought I'd post it here are well. They have addressed MANY questions regarding the kit. Thanks to those of you that have posted questions in the forums! Frequently Asked Questions: Q: What is the stock horsepower that the Spyder engine produces? A...

Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

Thats funny you said that, the muffler/exhaust is much cooler than the stock muffler. The stock muffler has a cat in it and is pretty restrictive, that holds in the heat. Since we're actually adding fuel to the motor now and not running it so lean, the exhaust isn'st anywhere near as hot as it...

Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

Ok, this positive release has kinda turned into some pi$$ing match. Attempting to turn it around and change the climate here. Fact - they don't need to become a site sponsor anywhere to dispel rumors... Just keep an eye on their site, they are updating their FAQ all of the time...

Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

The Spyder actually has a 9:1 compression ratio if you CC'd the head/piston. I am not sure why BRP states it as higher... its not. Thats why it runs on 87 octane and why Evoluzione offers a piston kit to make it high compression on premium fuel. Thats also why the Spyder motor loves and...

Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

I spoke to Brad @ Aerocharger, they are not divulging HP numbers until they get final Dyno testing done on the production parts (not the prototype parts). Brad is the owner of the company, anyone else that may have stated that number is mistaken. I suggest giving Brad a call back.

Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

Does 3K include a Muffler, custom airbox/air filter, WideBand for additional tuning and a fuel controller? That stuff alone is almost 2,000.... So be sure to keep that in mind... not to mention rip and replace of motor vs a couple of hours over a weekend.

Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

Sounds like your buddy did something wrong... I've said before - dont be surprised if you see a 50% to the wheels increase in HP and TQ... but I cant officially quote anything... I was just there for the first dyno test and had 3 weeks of ride/test time on it... Night and day difference.

Aerocharger taking pre-orders for Spyder Turbo kit NOW!

They DID dyno it, so saying "Won't" has different meaning. The official and posted dyno numbers will be released in a couple of weeks after final tuning.
