• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    F3 two up shock

I went this route and could not be more happy (although it's quite a bit more expensive) The Mrs and I bottomed out on our first ride I already had this on order when I got the bike. We had them on our 09 as well. This time I got it with the overload adjuster.

    Elka installation on F3

I installed a set on my bike a couple of months ago. Not sure what you mean by this, I installed them the same way the stock ones were installed, never once crossed my mine. Sure I know usually springs are down, but figured the stock ones were up so the Elkas needed to do the same.

    That's how the fight started

Wife came home one day and saw new F3 parked in the garage, asked what happened to the 09, I said that is was the 09 and had no idea what she was talking about. That was in Oct, still have not heard a peep out of her. Ended up with a new bike and a silent wife, worked out better than I could...

    Boy, I really like

I would have waited to buy one, however when I found out they won't offer in a manual transmission, I jumped on a 2015 leftover. No SE6's in our household.

    F3-P? any difference from F3-S

You also you don't have to hit the "M" button upon startup on the police versions. Now that's something we would all like!

    Riding season officially ends tomorrow

I don't get everyone's fear of salt. I just traded in my 2009, and rode it all winter. Not literally but any decent dry days I would take it out and put 20-30 miles on it though out the winters. Even on "white" streets. Most of the time I got back I gave her a quick hose down, but sometimes I...

    Removing Blue Ridge windshield

See nothing to worry about. Where in SE WI do you reside? My parents live in Lake Geneva I ride up in that area all the time.

    Removing Blue Ridge windshield

Not the acorn nuts on the windshield brackets though! The brackets stay attached to the windshield, that all comes off together when you remove those "purpleish" cups

    Removing Blue Ridge windshield

Remove the 2 large torx on the side (next to the alum anodized black round cup parts), then take the two screws out of the front bottom of the shield. That's it. You can leave the front swivel bracket on and still get at anything you need, I just did my headlights this way.

    Timing chain noise?

Same here started about 850 miles for me on my F3. I emailed a video to my service tech asking if I should be worried lol. I guess not

    F3 died out

With all the electronics on these things I think anything can be possible if the computer is getting confused. I find it better to not ask as the lengthy explanation cuts into my riding time lol, and to be honest I think that was all they could find that was out of spec at this time.

    Shocks for 2009 GS

I have these for sale if you are interested. I had no intention of getting them rebuilt prior to taking them off I loved them enough to buy a new set for my new F3. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?86891-Elka-Stage-1-for-RS-For-Sale

RT being remodeled by the mice

Downey dryer sheets. They are cheap and super effective. We tuck them all over our snowmobiles when we store them and never have issues. Couple in the exhaust, around the counsel, tucked in the seats, rear storage area, and engine compartment. Good luck with the knee, my wife had her second one...

    F3 died out

I have not picked t up yet but was told it is ready over the phone, the work order states the gear position sensor was the bad and was the cause. That could make sense since I was always downshifting when it happened. We will see, hopefully I can get some more miles on her before the snow hits.
