• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Survey Question/Riding Habits

98% solo and 2% 2-up. I have never rode with another bike. I try to get my neighbors and a few friends to ride, but they all seem content to let thier bikes rot in the garage. When they do take them out, it is to ride to the bike shop to pick up a new gizmo. I guess they just like polishing them...

Gas Mileage - ~19mpg after ECM recall

I thought I had seen talk on this a while back, but I seem only to find surging issues posted. These are the symptoms I have - - Before I can go 90 miles, I am getting the low fuel indicator - fuel smell coming from upper engine vents - fuel smell from exhaust - I can actually put my hand...

Official BRP Statement on Spyder DPS

BRP gets some cool points back. I would like to see a full course of action for the remedy and a commitment to those folks out there that are now out of warranty or soon to be, that they will take care of this issue as a full no-cost recall. Anything less is BS. My dealer off-the-cuff said...

How fast have you driven you Spyder and under what conditions?

114ish on I-84 in Pennsylvania mountains. 60 degrees and clear and sunny. I still had throttle and RPM's to go, but felt like a governor was holding me back. Surprise to see the 120-130 reports here. Thought I found the top end. I guess I will have to try harder next time. :D

Big up to Carlo@BRP, he got my DPS busted spyder back for me

...just an update on the DPS replacement, ridiculous gas mileage, and an odd issue I had with electronics. - So steering has been great for the most part and Wednesday I started having no power steering randomly in low speed turns. - Then i also had my bike fail to start and all electronics...

USER NAMES/HANDLES - What does yours mean? Where did it come from?

Mine is an old IRC handle I used to use when I first got on the net in the early 90's. My first name is Jeremy and I smile a lot. J :)

Big up to Carlo@BRP, he got my DPS busted spyder back for me

:agree:with HDX Lamonster's post and Carlo's effort is effective and very much appreciated, but it is a workaround to a busted support organization. Im sorry, anyone who beleives this is anything but unacceptable is in denial. I do not hold this against my dealer or Carlo, just BRP. It is...

Big up to Carlo@BRP, he got my DPS busted spyder back for me

Still can not get her out of traffic to see what solid highway gas milage is looking like yet. It has definetly dropped significantly. I am guessing maybe 21-23 highway mpg. :(

COLDEST RIDE SO FAR ...this year

11 degrees is pretty damn cold with just those few layers. I have the gerbing gloves, insoles, pants, and jacket heated and it is starting to get chilly for me at 24 degrees this past week riding 25 miles in the morning to work. Of course it takes an hour to go that far around here.

    Cold Weather Riders

I gently compressed the air channel 1/32" in a 2" circle to have a helmet that would fit properly without causing headaches. My head may have some marginal reduction in air passage to cool that spot, but I am not convinced my helmets are as you say compromised. For slight corrections like...

Big up to Carlo@BRP, he got my DPS busted spyder back for me

Yes, it really really sucks you have to be in-the-know to get proper service from BRP, but you can't look a gift horse in the mouth. Just take it and keep bitching till the cheap bastards hire a small army of Carlo's to run all of these problems down. Carlo did get my :f_spider: back. Those that...

I'm New - Questions on The Can-Am Spyder

On the cost aspects, you could look at second hand. Due to the recession and unemployment rates there are many a good deal to be had out there for used spyders still under warranty. I saved big money that way and have seen spyders listed all the way down to $9k with less than 2k miles. I have...

    Disc'd by your riding buddies

Hahahah.....damn snobs. I have a few buddies who ride HD and they give me ***** all the time. It pissed me off in the beginning a little, but then i thought about the reality of the situation.....and I think they have begun to realize it as well. I ride my :f_spider: in the rain, at night, in...

Big up to Carlo@BRP, he got my DPS busted spyder back for me

2 days shy of 6 weeks and my :f_spider: is sprung from jail yesterday. Carlo was able to contact my dealer and authorize the removal of a DPS unit off of another bike as there was no telling when the third replacement DPS unit would arive and if it would be right one this time. THANKS A...

    Cold Weather Riders

I have 2 HJC's one is a CL-15 the other is a CL-SP. Initially I had been looking at size large as I had pressure on my forehead at the ridge of my cranium and on the back with the medium sizes, but it was almost a perfect fit. After talking with some buddies and the guy at the shop I decided to...

    back tire

Anyone run the Toyo Proxes4 on a :f_spider: yet? Is it even possible? I have been running them since maybe 2004 on all my cars and have loved them. I have bought 5 full sets to date and they are the only tire I run on my cars. There are few compromises and they are a really good all around...

    Clear, Dry and 21F......

I received my Gerbing heated/armored pants, T-5 heated gloves, and heated insoles a few weeks back. I all ready had the heated jacket liner and loved it. I have not tried the new gear, but will check back in once I do and report. The jacket is great, except it can cook you until you find the...

Got Caught in the Steering stuff.

 I would feel better after 5 weeks of waiting if all you guys were not in the same boat. Looks like my chances of getting the DPS unit soon are grim with so many waiting on one and a short supply. I have also had 2 bad DPS units shipped to my dealer. This is a real drag. :(
