• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Secret Lab - keep it that way

Dealer Missed My Spyder was a left over 2012 with 900 demo miles on it. It hasn't had the oil filter upgrade done, hence, maintenance schedule is 3000 vs 4600. At delivery, there was a big deal made of giving me the updated schedule which doesn't apply until the upgrade is finished. Would...

Secret Lab - keep it that way

Help Yes it is. I transitioned over from BMW where we had tech day get togethers. My concerns over the learning curve to maintain my own Spyder are being overcome by the goodness of the Spyder community.

Secret Lab - keep it that way

Had a very productive morning at Doc Riversides' Secret Laboratory. He walked me through removing the frunk and tupperware panels for a couple of mods. I won't take any credit for what was done. Doc installed a BajaRon Sway Bar and a Bump Skid while I watched and learned. He also pointed out a...

    VIN

Prob fixed Read the letter again, yeah I know. Problem is with the BMW and will be overcome by events when the new owner picks it up on Saturday in exchange for farkle money. Went online and changed it anyway, just to make GA happy. I think some of the probs are from the new TAVT business.

    VIN

Where do I look to confirm my VIN. Got a letter from Geico that Georgia says the VIN that Geico reported is incorrect and Georgia considers the RT-S to be uninsured. My 30 days to get registered runs out Monday. As of today the local tax commissioner still didn't have records back from Atlanta...

    Wifes' first ride

Big Win Not the first time either. Sept 12, 2000 I got home from work and found her with bags packed. When asked where she was going she said, "We are going to spend the night at Palm Coast and go to Daytona BMW Saturday morning to pick up a new bike. Get in the truck". Had been on the...

    Wifes' first ride

Took the wife out to Darien for lunch today; her first time on the new RT-S. She loved it and says I can keep it. That's good, since she gave it to me for my birthday and threatened to take it and leave me on the BMW. She hasn't ridden for 25 years and we did about 180 miles. Gas mileage was up...

    Helmet Surprise

Training No. She took the MSF course in the 80s but never took the riding test in CA. She will be content sitting on the back telling me where to go for a while. I explained she has to get licensed before she can ryde alone. Thinking it will be cool to ride together, her on the spyder and me...

    Helmet Surprise

Got home last night and my wife who hasn't ridden the two wheeler with me for thirty years had gone out and bought herself a new helmet. Says she will ride the spider and we are getting out this weekend. Yipeee!

Tell your story. What was the moment you knew you had to have a Spyder?

Wife instructions After three parking lot tip overs in three years, the wife decreed any rides requiring more than a day for her to come get me would require hauling the bike to where I wanted to ride. When the school started requiring a 40 mile one way commute two days a week, she further...

    Not so imtimidating anymore

Stopped in to see Doc Riversides Secret Laboratory this morning. Quite an impressive set up and a very knowledgeable guy. I won't refer to him as gentlemen, cause he might get upset with his prior career background. It was nice to get the lowdown on doing my own maintenance; doesn't look so...

    Bet Dealer

Did it Went to Statesboro Friday afternoon. Ended up buying a left over 2012 RT with all but the GPS. Did couple hundred miles today and love it. No problem making the transition from a two wheeler. Good news is, the wife says I don't have to sell the BMW. Lots of buttons to learn. Reading...
