• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Brake recall???

I'm not "thinking" of any previous recall and I don't think any information has been sent out yet from BRP. All I know is what I posted above. I have no idea what symtoms are being addressed, but the person who made the comment to me knows that I have an RS. I know that a lot of folks (including...

    Brake recall???

Someone told me BRP is preparing to initiate a recall regarding brake issues. Word is that it's due to corrosion on the rear brake. Anybody have more information about this???

    glow rider wheel light

Installation Level of difficulty can be subjective. For me, if I recall correctly, they were relatively easy....like maybe a '2' on a scale of 1 to 10. I don't recall any issues....but it has been over a year. Regarding battery life, I've only replaced my batteries twice in the year I've had...

    glow rider wheel light

GloRyders I've had the amber lights on my Spyder for about a year now and I think they're great! The only downside is that you have to check occasionally to make sure the batteries are good. Each one uses 3 AA batteries. But they work fine....only on when moving AND when it's dark!

    hottttttttttt feet lol

One possible solution... Check out Spyderpops (one of the sponsors on this web-site). They have 2 things that might help. One is called the "Air Management System" and the other is the "Missing Heat Shield". I've installed them and they do seem to help a lot. It can still get hot on my right...

Options for foot pegs on RS

Floorboards/ext pegs I bought some after-market extensions and had them on my Spyder for a couple of months, but decided I also needed something for myself also so I made a set of floorboards and attached them to the extended passenger footpegs. Since then, I decided to make another set with...

    Help! Engine running bad!

Spyder has come home! Well, I finally picked up my Spyder yesterday. They replaced the coil and spark plug wires and said they gave it a good test ride (I bet they love that part) and they feel the problem has been resolved. I rode it home and so far so good, but I'll give it a much better test...

    Help! Engine running bad!

Still in the shop...... Yes, it's still in the shop!!! :banghead: They're still not sure what's wrong, but they are thinking it might be the ignition coil so they ordered a new one and will hopefully have it next week. But with the holidays, I won't be surprised if it takes longer. Fortunately...

    Help! Engine running bad!

Still in the shop...... I haven't had a chance to get on SpyderLovers for a couple of days so I'm catching up on the recent comments. Thanks again for all of the great feedback. I drained the gas and replaced the gas filter, so it doesn't appear to be a "bad gas" issue. To answer Dtryke in...

    Help! Engine running bad!

The saga continues.... Well, after having the bike in the shop for a week, the dealer can't find anything wrong. They said it was "throwing a sensor" and they couldn't figure out why. They couldn't find anything wrong except that the negative battery connection could be a bit tighter so they...

    Help! Engine running bad!

Final analysis will be posted I'm no mechanic but I certainly agree....especially since I've had my Spyder at even higher altitudes before and never had an issue. And since the problem seems to have disappeared now, I'm leaning toward thinking it might have been the bad gas issue. But the fact...

    Help! Engine running bad!

Thanks for the advice! Thanks to all for the comments/suggestions. I just spoke to a mechanic at the dealership and he says the Spyder's ECM sometimes "freaks out" at higher altitudes and he suggests we do a software reload. The elevation here is about 1800 whereas I was above 5K (in Prescott...

    Help! Engine running bad!

Yesterday, I road with about a dozen other bikers on a great ride through the Arizona mountains. Unfortunately, about half way through the ride, my Spyder started running really bad. I had to keep revving it up just to keep it running at idle and when I tried to take off, I had to rev up to...

I have no idea what this does...Anybody?????

Maybe we'll never know..... It certainly would have been great if that were truly the case, but my comments about the picture etc were actually as serious as my Christmas list!!!:joke:

I have no idea what this does...Anybody?????

To Summarize...................... Wow….what a great post this has been! It’s incredible what one can learn from a single post on this web-site! I think we should give our sincere thanks to Bumblebee67…first for coming up with such an incredibly difficult issue that stumped our best and most...

My Spyder just left on a trailer

Update and question In addition to my steering issue, I've had a few times recently when my Spyder didn't want to start. It would turn over once or twice and stop. Sometimes I've had to try 5 or 10 times before it finally started. I finally checked the battery connections (duh!) and sure enough...

    Spyder hard to start....

Maybe it's fixed... I still can't understand why BRP thinks we should have to remove 2 body panels just to get to the battery posts! Anyway I did check the connections as suggested and sure enough, the negative post connection was only finger tight! So I tightened it up good (and the positive...

    Spyder hard to start....

No, the display doesn't go dead. I'm pretty sure it looks exactly the same. If it happens again, I'll be sure to take a closer look. Thanks for the advice. I'll check out all connections first. The more I think about it, the more I feel it might just be a bad connection somewhere. If/when I get...

My Spyder just left on a trailer

Good luck and please post the results. I never got any fault messages on mine, but I definitely have a problem that needs to be fixed! I'm really anxious to find out the cause so I can get it fixed before I head into oncoming traffic!

Parking Brake was adjusted and now I have an issue--HELP!

Not my video.... Sorry if I gave the impression I made that video.:opps: Actually I just happened to see it recently in another post. I believe it was created some time ago by someone who was nice enough to pass on the information. I actually adjusted my parking brake based on the video and it...
