• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Mechanical issues

I have no clue if the problem could be the same but the vibration and the loud metallic pop sounds similar to what happened to my 2010 RT SE5 at Spyderfest. After sitting for a while, started it up and she was running rough in neutral with a metallic "machine gun" sound. Put it in first and it...

    Spyderfest & Safety Recall

Just my 2 cents... Because it is sometimes hard to keep up with info, I lurk on the forum daily picking up tidbits I think I should know about my bike. I also have a 2010 RT A&C SE5 and when I first saw Lamont's post about the brake pin recall, you wonder how it affects you. From my position...

    Did anybody

2010 RT Throttle Body issue... occurred Thursday afternoon and Friday morning (first 2 times it had ever happened) so straight to Cowtown Friday AM. Have to admit if you are going to have a problem, Spyderfest and Cowtown was the place to be to have it repaired. Not only did they fix the...

    Starting problems

Sorry to hear about your down time I had the same problem occur with my 2010 RT but I had the "good fortune" to have the problem occur at Spyderfest last week. I've never had a lick of problems with my bike but last Thursday started her up and had that machine gun sound when I popped it into...

    New Elka shocks

Got the Elka shocks as well Had those shocks installed at Spyderfest and the passenger noticed almost faster than I did that the ride improved, was more stable in the wind and we were not as affected by semis on the interstate. I also want to thank-you John for assisting in getting that set of...

I can only agree with everything already said... Thank-you so much Len, everyone at Cowtown and the MoGang for pulling together one extraordinary affair!!! Kudos to the vendors for bringing the product, your savvy knowledge in what might be needed as well as all of the installation activity...

Sorry, I can't assist on the RS since I ryde an RT... but just let me say after having my floorboards from John at http://sealfloorboard.com installed at Spyderfest, I can't imagine why I didn't do this sooner! John, thanks ever so much, the floorboards are fantastic! The 7 hour ride home...

    Home safe

Left at 7:30 this AM Lots of fog until just before St. Louis and then it lifted. Hit some rain across central IL later but home safe and sound around 2:30 PM. What a wonderful time meeting so many new friends (and not remembering names!) and seeing so many spyders in oneplace. Truly looking...

Shortining the distance to Spyderfest..Where are you ?

Leaving this morning As usual, the dreaded "work week" got in the way but we're pulling out around 9 and should be in Cuba around 4. Of course, that allows for the rain showers we are currently experiencing but if they don't get any heavier, should be an okay ride. Lots of warm clothes and...

    $978 today

Buy before factory warranty expires I just added the 3 year BEST about 3 weeks ago just before my 2 year factory warranty ran out. No late fee surcharge; priced it at 3 different dealers and took the lowest cost one. The key thing to remember is you have to purchase it before your 2 yr. factory...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

As the saying goes, there be dragons here... ...and her name is Aragon. Now mind you, many might say I am in my second (or 3rd, 4th, etc.) childhood, but the first time I saw the RT from the front, I said it was a dragon transformer. For me, that converted to needing a dragon name long before...

Just curious-why did you buy a Spyder?

2 artificial knees, a bum hip and a huge desire to keep riding were the main motivators but then I saw a 2009 RS and thought, hmmm, bet they show up with a touring model. And they did the very next year! Test rode the dealers limited, chose the A&C model and picked it up a week later. Work...

    Anti-freeze leaking from somewhere

Try checking this thread. Me, I let the dealer look at things but I know many others are mechanically inclined. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?35453-Antifreeze-is-leaking-help&highlight=antifreeze+leak

    Anti-freeze leaking from somewhere

Had the same happen to me this winter. No leaks during the riding season, then about a month into winter I see the little trail from under the front of the spyder. As soon as the weather warmed up, the trail went away, took the bike to the dealer last week and he tightened the clamp as he had...

    Extended warranty

Re: BEST Warranty I just went to the dealer in Woodstock IL and got the 3 yr. BEST warranty for the same price as the MegaMall. Which by the way was a hundred dollars less than quoted to me by my selling dealer. Based on the expense of these machines and the cost if something breaks down...

    Other Bikers

I was invited to put my 2010 RT in a well established local car show last spring. One of the requirements was to kind of hang around and answer questions. The bike was the hit of the show (besides one of Danica Patrick's older race cars) ;) and the most questions asked were by the local Harley...

    Did You or Didn't You?

I did indeed start with the RD 200. Quite the "cute" little bike and especially good for taking the test. Small and maneuverable and no restrictions on the license. I think I owned the bike all of 4 weeks, took the test and traded up to the 350 model with the 6 speed racing engine. Now may I...

    Did You or Didn't You?

Started out riding back in the early 70's when it was still "uncommon" to see a woman with her own bike. Had to start with the lowly Yamaha 200 to get my cycle endorsement but at least it was not restricted to the bigger bikes. From there it was a steadt climb to an 850 before my last...
