• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Another fire -

Don I'm really sorry for your loss, but glad to hear that you are ok. As for Silver Surfer, I also was at the Smokies and there is no way I saw 300 Spyders there, or 200 for that matter. I counted 97 at Lamont's, so there was probably around 150-175 or so max. Now regarding these fires...

    BRP is not fair

Good luck hearing back from Carlo. I had a running problem that kept my Spyder at the dealer for 63 days. Numerous calls and e-mails to Carlo went unanswered except for 1. I also left several voice mails to his supervisor a female whose name I have forgotten. She never had the courtesy to...

    Trading RT's

I want to put in my two cents worth. I agree that the Spyder is not ready for prime time. Following is a letter I sent to Carlo yesterday. I sent the original on Tuesday. After weeks at the dealer and haaving strabded me 3 times, I too am ready to bail out of this vehicle that can be so much fun...

    JUST MY FREAKING LUCK

I too have had more than my share of problems on my 2008 SM5. Rough running, popping, missing, etc. Three weeks ago went to Hickory, NC (trailered it up there), it had been running great. Pulled it off the trailer and took a stroll down the street. After less than 10 minutes, I tought I would...

    Soft bag recommendations?

I received mine and noticed that one set of the velcro straps are too short and do not reach each other. :dontknow: Where would you be able to obtain these velcro straps? I'm installing the bags under the Corbin rear seat, and I need to be able to adjust them so me wife can continue riding with...

    Nelson-Rigg CL950 Deluxe Saddlebags

Straps are not long enough I just received my CL 950's and when I tried to install them found out that one set of straps fits over the other one but only about halfway (short), the other set will not even reach each other.. Did you guys use some kind of extensions? By the way they look great, I...

    Won't Start, won't turn over

My 2008 SM5 did the exact same thing about a month ago, when I was trying to come home from work. I had to try it about 6 times before I got it started. It would do its sweep, then when I hit the ignition switch, it would click on the right hand side, then shut the display off. I would have to...

    Intermittent Power Steering problem

Thanks for the tips Scotty, I'll call the Dealer tomorrow and hold my breath. They "aligned" my Spyder about 1,000 miles ago (I had to pay or it, which I thought it was BS since it takes a few thousand miles to show the wear on the tire) because it was eating a front tire on the inside. They...

    Hitch question

Same here, I've told them and their reply has been "Don't believe everything you read on those blogs, usually they are full of BS and wrong info!" Well this blog knows so much more than they do and way before that I only believe half, if that much, of what the dealer says...

    Intermittent Power Steering problem

I looked in here to see if anyone had experienced shimming problems at 60 MPH, and lo & Behold, there it is. We cheked for anything loose and everything appears tight, but I have a really bad vibration (shimming!!!) right around 60 mph, ONLY!!! Above 65 or so is fine and below 55 or so is fine...

    Tallest Windshield ?

What is the overall height of the tallest windshield made without going totally custom ? Who makes it ? Approx.$$ ? If I can't find one tall enough, who is the best custom group ? Thanks ...... F1 made a 34 incher, dark (not black), one piece windshield for me, which I'm happy with. I'm...

    Spyder running bad (Confused)

Ok, I rode back from work paying real good attention to evrything going on as much as I could. The :spyder:bike ran fine for a couple of miles until I hit 4 bars in the temp. Then at a steady speed of 50 then later on at 60, it started sputtering, missing, hesitating, and ran rough for the rest...

    Spyder running bad (Confused)

I'm glad I looked in here today. Here's my story. My Spyder's steering lock up momentarily (almost threw me off) about 2 weeks ago. Took it to the dealer (130 miles away). They did the recall, but kept the bike for over a week waiting to get one of the schock adjusters that they broke. It...

    Spyder Problems

8,900 miles and I love my Spyder. Right now is at the dealer in Tampa due to steering issues (it got stiff on turns last Sat, then locked up for a second ot two on Wednesday, scared the $#!^ out of me). I hope the dealer resolves this problem soon. He may need to replace the GPS and/or the DPS...

Pegs/floorboard Modification so passenger would not need to bend knees back

My wife had knee surgery about a 1-1/2 years ago but her knee never healed perfectly. Sitting on the Spyder as a passenger, causes her pain :( due to having to bend the knees back. I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to locate someone who fabricates some kind of mod (longer front pegs, a...
