• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Suzuki 90 degree L twin 1000cc RT!

Right. This was all hypothetical anyway. The L twin was just a, if I had $ to customize the RT, that would be my preference.

    Suzuki 90 degree L twin 1000cc RT!

Actually the L twin would not take up a lot more space. It is quite comparable in space taken up. It can be shifted in such a way like Suzuki does in the Vstrom where the body work could stay the same on the RT. May even have a little room between the cylinders to make a little bit bigger gas...

    Suzuki 90 degree L twin 1000cc RT!

    Suzuki 90 degree L twin 1000cc RT!

Although I have not personally experienced the triple, I believe a v twin was the right choice for this bike. The way the the Spyder just wants me to hurry up and shift gears like, right now, may get me a ticket. It feels like it has a shift assist on the sm5. Is this true?

    Suzuki 90 degree L twin 1000cc RT!

I just believe IMHO, that there would be even less heat surrounding the bike and the smooth tourqe of that motor would be incredible!! Used to have a V strom. Although 500 lbs. lighter than the RT, I just think it would be a good fit.

BRP already out sources motors to Rotax.... I thought!!:dontknow:

    Suzuki 90 degree L twin 1000cc RT!

I have been thinking even before I bought the '13 RT, the Suzuki 90 degree L twin 1000cc would have been perfect in the Spyder! Now after the heat issues if I had $$ to waste I would put that motor in the bike. If it had the right bodywork and mapping there would not be enough OOOOO's in smooth...

HAVE YOU HAD THE 2013 RT RECALL WORK DONE YET?

Thanks. I will check that out. Rode home yesterday the dashboard said it was 107 degrees. When I pulled in the garage there was no vapor coming from the bottom and no smell of gas....BUT! The tank was just above a 1/4. That seems to be the difference.

HAVE YOU HAD THE 2013 RT RECALL WORK DONE YET?

Is there any modification required? Or is it just an easy fit? What do you ask for? A 2014 right side grill?

HAVE YOU HAD THE 2013 RT RECALL WORK DONE YET?

It will be going to the dealer. I got mine done in Fredericksburg in late July! There is so much heat that just blows around the bike on hot days it is almost not enjoyable. I am going to buy some small sheets of ABS plastic and make a shield to deflect all the fan heat. I put the block off...

HAVE YOU HAD THE 2013 RT RECALL WORK DONE YET?

Gas cap is on tight! I think the cat is the culprit. A 10 degree difference in outside temperature and the heat from the cat makes all the difference. Below 90 degrees it is fine. The body panels are cooler, glove box is cooler and the gas cap is cooler. Maybe they didn't replace the...

HAVE YOU HAD THE 2013 RT RECALL WORK DONE YET?

Still getting fuel vapor after recall work; Here in VA when the tank gets below a 1/4 and it is above 90- 95 degrees still getting fuel vapor at stops. I can still see the vapor coming out of the vent line underneath. Bike is stock!:banghead:

Brand new '13 RT purchased in April, '15! he header

I just reviewed the the PDF of the recall work. That device attatched to the bottom right plate is indeed a pre filter which is coming from the replaced charcoal canister. Still getting fuel vapors after riding home from work 11 miles in a dashboard indicating 98- 100 degrees in mixed traffic...

Okay. I am getting educated here. The dealer told me that was a relocated canister. This is some awesome information here. Interesting...... Thanks to everyone!!!

WasWinger. I cut a hole in the same area and used the block off plate. A question though. If you removed that bottom panel, where did they put the new location of the charcoal canister? (after the recall work) Mine is attatched to to that bottom panel, just under where the hole was cut. Which...

Thanks Blueknight! Was actually thinking of a spal fan. A 5.2 inch. I would have it come on with the oem fan with a relay.

Brand new '13 RT purchased in April, '15! he header

Thanks everyone! I am going to keep a close eye on the temp and fuel smell for a week or so. If the problem persists the dealer will be hearing from me. But I am still going to remove the cat and wrap the pipes. It just does not make sense that the cat is even on the bike. Has anyone cut a whole...
